I went to West Carleton Automotive with a cam cap with some debris on the bearing. The shop was very welcoming and inspected the part plus gave a recommendation on how to repair it which worked. The workers in there were very professional and helpful. Great experience, will go back and recommend others to go here for engine work.

Did a great job when I brought in my hack job of pistons and needed a new set installed onto old Rods. I've had cylinder heads cleaned up and decked by them before. They do great work!

Machinists are very good. I knew I was in good hands when the one machinist pulled out his pocket micrometer and we shared a laugh over an oil gallery filled with melted what-used-to-be-rod-bearing. They went out of their way to get something done for me ahead of schedule, however in the process, made a mistake and gave me the wrong part. The machinists do good work, however they are seemingly overwhelmed with projects causing task switch mistakes to be made. Happy with the resolution to my problem, and it was still ahead of the originally quoted timeline, albeit with a slight speed bump along the way.

They had done great work at reasonable prices for my first two experiences. This time however, I sent time a part which should have required 2 maximum hours of work and a couple of days. A week later (4 days past the original estimates completion date) the bill topped out at $400 without a call to notify me of this. Send work there as long as you're ok with a random number as your final bill, complete disregard for time lines and no status calls what so ever

Update - 1/11/16 was just called by the shop to tell me that because I'm not a machinist I have no right to question the work and wouldn't know what it took anyway. Deal with this shop at your own peril. They just get condescending and rude.

I was referred to this shop by my local mechanic for getting machine work done on parts. I had an intercooler with a broken bolt and needed it drilled out. I had my part back after a day with the threads good as new. Great staff and the location isn't too far out of the way. I highly recommend this shop.

West Carleton rebuild my Honda K24 engine which haved cylinder 1valve burn out and cylinder 4 valve leak. Thanks to them my Honda accord 2007 is still running like Swiss watch with over 320k km on it. Thanks guys
