I was looking for a restaurant to eat in the area and decided on Vera’s. The menu outside the entrance is not the current menu but the offerings were good. The seafood chowder here for $15 was big ! It tasted so good and was honestly the best chowder I had during my entire trip in NL. Nobody else can compete. I have no idea why the $15 chowders in every restaurant I went to were so tiny and disappointing. I would come here just to eat this soup. That’s how tasty it is ! Seafood platter has great scallops and the batter was light and not caked on for a change (love that) ! This was the best place we ate at during the entire NL trip. Also, service from our waitress was very good. I love her kind attitude and patience as we had to check into our flight online while seated with our menus. It does get busy in here ! Would have loved to try a milkshake if I had room for one !

Vera’s was a great spot to grab a bite to eat. Very cute diner theme with some nice personal touches. Food was excellent and came out nice and hot even with a full dining room. The fish and chips was haddock which I wasn’t a fan of but that is just personal preference. The garlic fries are delicious. Dessert was also delicious but there was no menu or special board you would need to ask the waitress. The blue milk milkshake is also a fun shake with a bit of alcohol in it.

Cute spot with cozy diner vibes! I got the fishcake breakfast and it was great. Server was very friendly and they also have a patio. Lovely little gem in CBS!

Good number of options for brunch. My party had a breakfast burger and skillet type dish with hollandaise. Breakfast burger was good, thick sausage party and good flavours from the sauces. I would prefer a heartier bun to better contain the sandwich contents though. Busy spot, but they just opened so I think that will ease in the future.

Had the cod bites and chips. The cod was really fresh with crisp coating. Fries cut on site and are plentiful. We had an order of onion rings, really liked them. Shared with 3 people and was plenty with our meal. Service was good, picked our own seat and was served promptly. Staff friendly and helpful. Only gripe I have is 3.50 for a can of pop, Otherwise had a good experience.

First time visit for myself and my family. My mom ordered a clubhouse sandwich with all white meat. Her sandwich came out with dark meat as well. She tried to nicely send it back to be remade. Our server came back out awhile later with the same sandwich and said the cook will not remake it as he claims it is all white meat. Was not a busy night as we were the only ones in the restaurant. No response to my email from the owner or manager.

Everything was 15/10. The food was DELICIOUS! had me sayin "wow" for everything i tried. The portions are definitely on the plus size, the diner grilled cheese was bigger then my hand, and cooked to perfection. The service was amazing, our server was top notch, thanks Jasmine. If I had to make a complaint, inside is pretty tight, but there is an outside option, and chairs were pretty uncomfortable, the bars would dig in your hip/back. But Who cares! when your food and service is 15/10. Definitely check this place out!!!

Best club sandwich I've ever had and the orange creamsicle boozy milkshake is unbelievable. Highly recommend.
