Went for lunch, really not disappointed! we ordered a bibimbap and a pad Thai, excellent and affordable. The grocery store is full of products from all over the world Asia and Europe, a good discovery in Lethbridge

Awesome lunch spot! I’ve tried many different dishes and they have all been delicious. Highly recommend the Panang Peanut Curry. It’s a nice quiet spot for lunch, often there is nobody else at the tables.

Edid: March 2023. Still an interesting place to come. They have a wide variety of international foods. I came for hot pot ingredients and they didn't have nearly as much as I wanted, so I was a bit disappointed. I had a beef Vietnamese sub and while it tasted good I felt like it was swimming in sauce and could have used more meat. Service was good but not overly friendly. The three staff members seemed too busy to even say hello when we came in and never asked if we needed any help. The prices seem very high but I do understand that some of their items are hard to find or top quality.
-We came in on a Sunday for some shopping and stayed for lunch, they had an interesting dim sum menu. We had some steamed BBQ pork buns, pork and shrimp dumplings, and onion donut. The steamed bum was delicious but the dumplings were greasy and didn't taste fresh. The onion donut was confusing and not very tasty. It was some kind of fried bread with onions sprinkled on top and was not very flavorful. I also had a tea latte and that was absolutely delicious! Great place to peruse the shelves and they have a lot of octets things to try.

We just attended a Paella workshop with Patricia at Umami. It was SO MUCH FUN! It was much more than just a simple class it was an entire experience. It felt like being inside a story unfolding; learning the history and significance of the dish, the traditional way to prepare as well as the traditional way to eat. Highly recommend!

I always come in this store to eat ramen, i cam here twice a month. food is really good you can come here and try. the reason why I give then 2starts is because there's an emergency that I need to go and I ask them if they can put it into to go box. idk if hes the owner or manager the way is act is like a boy. he said they made an effort to make the food look good. I understand that but again I have an emergency. he declined to put into take out boxes. very childish

I was really excited to try Umami Shop in Lethbridge, but unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The food was overly salty, making it hard to enjoy the flavors of the dishes. Additionally, the recipes didn’t feel authentic—it seemed like shortcuts were taken, and the result lacked the depth and balance I was hoping for. For a place that seems to pride itself on offering diverse flavors, the taste fell flat and felt far from what it should have been. I’m not sure I’d return based on this experience.

Just arrived in town. Saw Umami as we were walking down the street. Looked very intriguing! Stopped in and had one of their sandwiches. Absolutely delicious!! Friendly staff. Brightband cheerful. Lots of cool food related stuff in their grocery store. Will be back for sure!

Ordered some special treats for my grandkids. It was returned to Umami before they were able to pick up at post office. I have been trying to contact them several times by email and phone since February with no reply. Would not recommend ordering from this store.
