This is a great concept, especially for those of us with limited storage. There's no longer a need to buy a tool for only occasional use, which saves quite a bit of money as well as reducing the footprint on the planet. The folks at the loan desk have been friendly and helpful.

Toronto Tool Library has loads of things you can rent with different memberships, and they also have a makers space with work benches, a laser cutting machine and sell shampoo and conditioner you can decant in to your own bottles! It’s a little tucked away in an alley, so just keep an eye out for the sign on the sidewalk.

This place is amazing ! They've got everything a DIYer wants but might not own. Great yearly plans and very affordable pricing. On top of that they offer workshops and guidance on use as well. Love it !

Avoid this place or pay with cash they will keep deducting money from your debit/credit card every year & it's not even written in the fine print. Terrible experience I signed up 2 years ago & a year later deducted money from my account & they refunded me saying it wouldn't happen again & yet 2 years later it happened again, even though I only accessed their library only once two years ago!

This place is great, rather than owning 12 different large power tools and trying to find a place for them in your house/condo/apartment, rent the tools from these guys. The yearly membership isn't expensive and worth it! I have rented all sorts of great tools such as a sliding mitre saw, electric metal shears, nail guns with air compressors, inspection cameras, pole saw & pruner... I'm glad I don't have to go out and buy all of these tools.
