I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Madman’s Wife and all that it has to offer, wonderful consignment items, unique trinkets, local art. If you wanted to spend the day in there you could. You wouldn’t get bored. The owner is amazing, compassionate, and very helpful. Every time I go in there I’m welcomed with open arms and great attitude! I’ve become very fond of this establishment for many of my shopping needs!

Plus you can get a haircut or pierced there too! Sewing is done in store and many of the wall art is made in store too. It’s a really cool set up.

I absolutely love this shop. Vicky is wonderful inside and out. She is so supportive to anyone that lays outside of the "norm". I've even taken struggling youth there to feel the atmosphere where the creepy is loved, the wild is the norm, and being different is not critiqued.

This space is amazing for finding all your unique needs. Whether it be clothing, piercings, or home decor.. you can find it all here! Most of the items come from island small businesses.

Vicky works really hard at promoting local artists!

Jeff is an amazing piercer with a huge heart. He takes time to consider everyone's style and makes sure to promote locally whenever possible.

Great place with many oddities not something you would expect to find in Port but super happy we have something like this here. Everyone here is super nice and accommodating. The owner Vicki is welcoming whenever I go in, Rachel fit me in a while back last min to have some extensions removed (not done by her and she still accommodated me) and I was pierced by Jeff the other day you could tell he took great care in placement, and general ICP in his practice (it also hurt wayy less than when I had the same piercings done in the past). I recommend this place to all my visitors when they come to Port.

The Madman's Wife is a store with unique things you can't find everywhere.
From Taxidermy Rodents and Insects to unique clothing, they have quite a selection of stuff.
I know I spent quite a bit of time in there looking at their products.
They also have books, sunglasses, shoes, jewelry, stickers, patches, artwork and a lot more worth checking out.

So if you're either visiting or live in Port Alberni, and this store sounds like something that would interest you, it totally doesn't hurt to check it out. (:

I just moved to Port Alberni from the UK and words can’t express how happy I was to find a place like The Madman’s wife. This shop is as unique as its British born owner. Everyone here goes out if their way to ensure your experience is nothing short of perfect! The piercer was extremely professional and i couldn’t be happier with the results. I left with not only precise and detailed aftercare but a huge slice of homemade banana bread. It’s so wonderful that alternative folks like me have a place to shop amongst people who make you feel nothing but welcome.
