Très bon accueil et chambre tout à fait correctes. Bon insonorisation (on n'entend pas la chambre d'à côté). Nous n'avons pas testé la piscine, mais nos enfants étaient déçus qu'elle soit réservée au plus de 19 ans. L'hôtesse nous a conseillé le restaurant juste de l'autre côté de la route qui était très bien. Seul défaut de cet hôtel, le petit déjeuner très impersonnel avec la télé dans la salle, les néons. Heureusement les gaufres étaient délicieuses.

Nous avons séjourné 2 jours au Black Bear Resort à l'occasion de notre visite du Nord de l'Ile de Vancouver. Nous sommes très contents de la chambre, de l'espace santé avec sa piscine et son jacuzzi. Un seul bémol, le petit déjeuner offert se limite aux produits industriels habituels dans les motels de chaîne.

This place was fine for our needs. And one of the front desk people did seem annoyed to have to help us when we were there. The other one was fine.

Location is great and close to all you need in town.

Room is fine - clean and comfortable.

We spent a night at the Black Bear when our reserved hotel proved a disaster.
The Black Bear Hotel was great from the get go. While the $250 per night price was a little steep, it was a good investment given the other options in town.
The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean, well maintained, and spacious. The beds were comfortable, and amenities such as a fridge, microwave, and TV were provided. The room was spotless and the bathroom immaculate.
Parking was a bit of a challenge, but that simply reflects how popular this hotel is.
The breakfast provided was minimal, and selection sparse, but the coffee was good and offerings fresh.
There was no AC in the room but a fan provided by the hotel allowed for a measure of airflow. Even so, it was somewhat stuffy.
We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Not really a resort or hotel, more of just a motel/Inn. Rooms are modest but clean. Nice location and quaint little town, deer hanging around on the grounds! Check in and check out was easy and they were very accommodating for guests doing kayaking/wildlife tours with nearby businesses. The breakfast however is absolutely abysmal, it's also way too expensive to stay here for what it is, so I wouldn't do it unless it was a matter of convenience for getting to the port for a boat departure. Additionally, one particular female member of staff was absolutely lovely to deal with on check in. However the other two women that we encountered were awful and bitchy with very poor customer service and treated us like pests for asking basic questions. Comfortable room experience but wouldn't stay again or recommend.

Decent hotel in Port McNeill. I Travel a lot for work and have stayed at most accommodations on the north island. Some of the amenities have declined over the years. Little things like the cheapest soaps I've ever seen and the breakfast options (RIP waffle machine and TV with morning news). Definitely would stay there again... but definitely will be like "damn I forgot how crap this soap is".

Black Bear Resort? Not a resort but just a roadside motel. Room doors outfacing, rooms modest but clean. Kind of expensive for what it was. The breakfast was pitiful. Someone bought a loaf of bread, opened it, and put two slices each in sandwich bags. There were very few other offerings. It was so basic it’s just better to go out for breakfast. So the whole experience is just ok. Motel not resort. It’s a clean room to spend the night.
