Took my 30 year old Kenmore sewing machine into "That Sewing Place" today. It was misbehaving and I had no clue what was wrong. Jaret went at it with the investigative determination of Sherlock Holmes in solving a crime! Almost an hour later I left with a diagnosis, a working machine with a temporary fix and an appointment for a full service. I was very impressed with the service, value and friendliness I experienced from Jaret and the entire store staff. They were extremely helpful and pleasant and the service was flawless! I am so glad that we have a family run store of this quality in Newmarket.

Extremely well stocked store and owner was incredibly friendly and reasonable. She was focused on ensuring we had what was right for us and the best cost versus being interested in buying a whole selection of products that we may or may not need. The first time i came, she sold us an oil dispenser that was reusable and refillable for $1 versus the one my wife wanted, which was $8 and non reusable.

The second time visiting here, once we explained what we were looking for and what we were trying to fix, she provided a solid recommendation of a zipper and stopper, and when we asked for the cost, she told us it was free?! Also, the prices were literally dirt cheap to me because i was expecting at least $5...but some of her prices were half that.

I can't not support this place, give this place a visit if you're looking to start sewing. This is NOT a place to get things mended.

Great store with lovely owners/employees!
I stopped in recently to grab a few things for my wife's sewing machines and found that the selection and prices exceeded my expectations! They stock quite a variety of parts/pieces for many machines and are more than willing to help you get what you need, no matter what it is.
10/10 you guys! Well done with having such a well-kept, exceptional store!

I Stopped in at "That Sewing Machine Place" after speaking to Jaret on the phone. He was patient and extremely knowledgeable. He told me to bring in my mother's sewing machine as that would be the best way to assure getting it fixed. He even explained to me not to bring the whole thing and how to take out just the machine from it's casing. In no time he fixed it and at a very reasonable price. I stood there while he told me what was hindering the machine from working properly. I was amazed at his knowledge and expertise! He had it fixed in 20 minutes or so, Literally while I watched. I could not be happier. At a very reasonable price too. I was expecting to pay a lot more. I was impressed by his great service, patience and expertise. Thank you Jaret and "That Sewing Machine Place." You guys are the best!

Wow. Nice to go to a store that has knowledgeable , friendly, happy staff. They really take great care of my wife's sewing needs.
Got a great deal on a machine for Christmas. Came with lessons which is great because the new machines have so many features it's great to learn from experts.
Had the old Kenmore machine tuned up there, made an old machine work much better.
Highly recomend this store for machine and sewing needs.

Amazing place! Super friendly family run business. Never felt rushed, felt they genuinely cared to show me how to use the sewing machine I bought, I’m a beginner and they had no problem taking the time to run me thought everything I needed to get started. I feel very free to stop by if I had a question or concern. They are the WHOLE PACKAGE. You get great prices and pristine service. This was my first time there and 100% I’ll be back for anything sewing related.

I purchased a 10 needle Entrepreneur Pro Embroidery machine for my wife from Liana and her family and can safely say that the customer service and quality of products being offered at this store is second to none.
Superb support from the whole team (we love the fact it is a family atmosphere), fantastic instructional classes, brilliant technical help from Jaret (he is truly a mechanical genius) and highly competitive pricing.
