This tour was so much more than I expected.
There was a train ride to a tunnel where the mine presentation took place.
There were live demos of some of the tools that were used in the mine.
A former miner, who proved to be walking mining encyclopedia (also, an author) took us along the way with many stories, humour and safely did the live tool demos.
It was a delight.

A very awesome tour I highly recommend going for the extended tour. You actually get out and see the equipment that was used and some of the tunnels built underground.

Our two young boys quite enjoy the train ride and as a result, this tourist attraction has become something on an regular occurrence on our annual camping trip to Kimberley. The ride takes about 45 minutes to complete and if you have time, I would suggest taking the mine & powerhouse tour option, as the internal workings of both is quite interesting.

You get to take a small train and go underground into the mine.Bring your jacket,it might be 30C outside but underground it is cold.There were small children on my tour and they were screaming,crying and it made it hard to hear the miner talking.NOT A PLACE FOR KIDS UNDER 5.Older kids are fine.
