This shop does have a great selection of yarn, fabrics, and accessories for sure. However I did run into an issue.

I had went in with my mother to purchase more yarn for a project. I asked -before- purchasing if I could exchange it for something else if I don't use it all. Was told "for fabric, no, but for yarn, I don't see why not if it's unused, yes". Cool. I went in after my project was complete with excess unused yarn, and was told no. I said I had asked someone before purchasing the yarn if I could, and was told I could. The woman didnt know, and had to text the owner. I assumed (wrongfully I know now) perhaps I was told by the owner when I came in originally, just from how the conversation before had went. Owner doesn't get back to the employee immediately. It's Cool. We left, no big deal. I'll call back later and not lurk and wait forever and be -that- person.

I call back, and the owner says no. That they can't guarantee its not from a pet free home, not tampered with, yadayada. I say "Oh. I had asked someone before making my purchase like 2 or three weeks ago and was told I could... ". The owner said "No, it's on the bottom of the receipt too"..... I then said "Well, I wouldn't see that, until after I made the purchase and had a receipt. That's why I asked BEFORE purchasing. Had I had known that, I'd have purchased less and took my chances. You may want to make sure all of her staff knows this". She said she would talk to them.

While the policy is entirely fair, and I don't disagree with it, I DO disagree with being given the "it's on the bottom of the receipt" line, when I had already made it perfectly clear that I asked before I could even possess a receipt to see it. And if that policy is THAT cut and dry (the same for fabric and yarn) AND its on the bottom of the receipt, how are the staff NOT fully aware of it? Considering how expensive this stuff can get, it's super important to have your staff aware of the policies. This was literally the first experience I had buying yarn for a project from a small store like this, and I'd generally much prefer to shop local.

Updating a review I definitely don't remember making. I cannot imagine why I would rate as one star. I have always had excellent service here, the selection is amazing the the advice excellent as I am often shopping for gifts for people I know who like to quilt. My wife as well has always had exceptional service here!

The work ethics of the repairman leave a lot to be desired. I brought two Janome sewing machines in for repair…my 9450 on July 4th and picked them up today on August 17th. Neither machine had even been looked at by the technician. I will never never be back to give this shop any of my business, be it machine repair or retail.

September 12, 2023 update
I called and spoke to Tammy, the owner concerning my missing sewing machine cord, and she adamantly denies having misplaced it as she stated, “your machine wasn’t even looked at so how could we lose the cord”.
I left this second machine with her personally with the cord inside the case along with the foot pedal, and now the cord is gone. I presume they have, or should have a check list of any accompanying accessories that come into their care when entrusted with others’ machines
Tammy started off our conversation by stating that “oh you’re the lady who left the “ignorant” comment in the review on my webpage.
I left a customer’s honest review of my dealings with her and her many part time staff whether by person or checking up on the status of my two repairs by telephone.
I had been told three different stories the three times I called her shop and spoke to employees regarding the status of my Janome 4900 and 9450, plus an entirely different story when I dropped off my 9450 originally on July 4th to yet another employee.
