The Sport Sewing Shop is where I have been going to replace 2-way zippers on my winter coats and any additional repairs on outer-wear items. They have the expertise and professionalism to do so. The cost is reasonable (considering the the task) and my expensive coats can be worn again. I am willing to drive over an hour. They always share a reasonable timeframe of completing the task...and communicate if there are delays. Customer Service has been upfront, honest and responded to calls within 24 hours. In fact (I know that certain 'high-end' retailers)...send their repairs here...as they first recommended Sports Sewing Shop. They are EXCELLENT!

I sent 6 pieces of well worn gore-tex with broken zippers, holes, rips and dirt. This great shop took their time, ordered new closers to match, did excellent sewing, great cleaning. Absolutely perfect!

I brought a tent in to get the seams resealed as the seams were worn down and no longer waterproof in certain spots. I cannot comment on the quality of the work but I was not satisfied with the customer service. I brought the tent in on June 7th and was told it would take 2-3 weeks to repair. At the end of June I called to check in and was told it would take another two weeks, no explanation was provided. In mid July I called again and was told the machine they use fix the seams was broken. On August 6th I got a text message saying the tent was ready to be picked up. When I arrived, I asked if I could be offered a discount for the delay and they took 5 dollars off the repair cost which was over 100 dollars. While the quality of the work may be good, I was not impressed with the lack of communication and discount offered despite needing to wait for nearly 1.5 months longer than expected. I will not be returning.

I brought in my daily backpack whose main zipper and chest strap need replacing. Having looked at the prices of getting a brand new backpack, I took the chance on looking for a repair shop to see if I could salvage my own. I was extremely satisfied by the repair work done. The zipper, chest strap, and several other minor repairs were done exceptionally well. The quality and performance has remained perfect in the over five months since (and I use by backpack at least six days a week for a variety of purposes). The owner of the shop is a wonderful lady who takes great pride her shop's work. She took the time to carefully explain the work needed and the price of the work. I will happily be a repeat customer for other repair and tailoring needs.

Update: She did phone when she returned from vacation and was able to show me on her phone that she messaged me, but I never received it, even in the junk folder. I will have to chalk this up to a tech error, not hers, but I would have appreciated having one of my calls returned since it’s obvious I was trying to find out if it was ready. The zipper replacement was nicely done.

Original: Wish I could review the actual sewing. Unfortunately, they told me 2 weeks to replace the zipper on a rain jacket, it’s been 4 weeks today and no text (she said she would text). They don’t answer their phone or return voicemails and are now away for a week. Everyone deserves their personal/vacation time, but return your calls first. I can’t recommend this place.

I like the quality work of the Sewing Studio/ sports sewing for all kinds of repairs: shortening a winter coat sleeves, repairing zippers, reattaching handles on a canvas bag, and have had great work. I'm short and so I bring new jackets in to make them fit better -- with terrific results. I also have had adjustments made to dresses for fit. I've gotten more wear from my clothes.

Great service. Repaired zipper on one of my favourite 'tech' jackets. I was ready to toss it out, now it has more life!

Back with down puffer, had several puncture holes in sleeve. I had glued on patches and used duct tape. They did invisible repairs. Sewed through on sleeve, so not box baffle in a few places, but difference is subtle and does not feel any cooler. Excellent work. A+++

Right before a stormy winter weekend, I caught my down coat on something and tore one side of it. I took it into Sport Sewing and they fixed it overnight for me. Truly nice people who do excellent work!
