After renting kayaks for many years, my wife and I finally took the plunge and purchased our own boats. Before deciding on Seaward, we paddled as many different kayaks as we could, spoke with other kayakers, and did extensive research online. In the end, our decision was quite easy. Seaward is known for making a quality product and for their excellent customer service. We just picked up our new "Guide 17" kayaks at their factory in Chemainus, BC. The kayaks look beautiful, and we can't wait to get out on the water. We received outstanding customer service throughout the whole process. Steve was very patient with us as we narrowed down our decision on which model best suited our needs. The kayaks were built to our specifications and ready for us ahead of schedule. On the day we picked up our kayaks, Steve was again very thorough and walked us through all of the features of our new prized possessions. We can't thank Steve and his team at Seaward enough for their excellent customer service and attention to detail. If you are considering buying kayaks, do yourself a favour and contact Seaward before you make your purchase.

When your on the water, take a look at the kayaks all the guide companies use...seawards. These are good performing boats that stand up to the abuse west coast paddling can place on them.

As for customer service, blew out a rear hatch cover on our last trip. One email to seaward and a new hatch cover arrived at my door a few days later...now that is customer service!!

Buy a seaward and save yourself lots of headaches in the end.

Just changed out my seat with the Flex 4 and IR Back band. Steve was awesome to work with, as he was willing to combine the back-band and seat base to meet my needs at no extra charge. I have owned the Tyee for a long time and the boat is absolutely amazing. Seaward makes incredible boats, and because I live in BC, it's an added bonus.

Our company, Coast Mountain Expeditions has been using Seaward kayaks for nearly as long as they've been making them. More than half of our fleet of 60 kayaks is a Seaward boat. We still have boats in our rental fleet that have withstood over 20 years of commercial use requiring only minimal maintenance and repair. They still look great (after re-polishing and buffing). Seaward makes the best constructed fibreglass touring kayaks in North America...maybe the world.

I just bought a Tyee XLC and I can’t wait to get on the water. The staff at Seaward were super helpful and very patient with me (I visited the shop a number of times before purchasing). Francis was great and helped me with my choice. He was very open about pros and cons of the models I was looking at. When it came down to it, the Tyee was the correct choice. It’s a versatile boat that I can grow into as my confidence builds. These kayaks are expensive but worth it and they hold their value. The boats are hand made which makes every boat feel like a custom build (not made in mass production). Best part is they are 100% Made in Canada (Chemainus, BC). I was even lucky enough to tour the shop and witness the build process. It’s easy to spot the quality when you see these boats in person.

I and my wife ( in our mid 50's) , some times with our dog, need a kayak that is fast, light, stable and more importantly portable, so the tandem can be transported on top of my minivan over long distances, stored in my 2 car garage and loaded & unloaded by myself. The problem is that no such a kayak on the market, well that is correct until I convinced Mr. Steven Ree, the president of Seaward Kayaks, to custom built one for me. After multiple phone call and email exchanges, Steven decided that a modified carbon fiber Passat G3 XLC will fit my requirements. The time was tight and technical challenge was high, and he had no time to make any mistake. In the end, he made a beautiful tandem kayak, did not have time to test in the water and it arrived 4 days before my departure. Except some minor leaking and some not so smooth cuts (very difficult with carbon fiber). it was a great success. the boat met and surpassed all my expectation. Big Thanks to Steven and his team!
