2013 I purchased my 69 Camaro convertible in South Carolina. The Camaro is fitted with a 396, factory Borg & Warner Super T-10/4 speed, 411/10 bolt rear. White's Automotive did Certification & Inspection. Jason, the manager said the engine was making an odd noise and recommended "RON NEWTON" at Precision Valve & Crank. "RON", the business owner said the rods were bent and a build was needed. I wanted 500hp, I wanted an Edelbrock!! "RON said $8k and we agreed.

2013 March I gave "RON" $4K deposit. 6 month build. "RON" blamed the delays on parts. "RON" kept asking for more money!
April 29, 2013 = $2K.
May 08, 2013 = $2K.
May 13, 2013 = $1K.
May 30, 2013 = $1K.
June 05, 2013 = $2K.
June 07, 2013 = $2K.
(Total: $14,000)

"RON" manage 450 hp. (I have Dyno tests video/photos). "RON" promised to pay me $1000 for the ProForm carb and removed it and installed "Holley" 850CFM. I specifically said, NO HOLLEY CARBS! They over jetted the Holley, trying to reach the 500hp as "RON" promised.
I asked "RON" for a break down of expenses of the $14,000. I received an invoice for build $8995.00 a list of parts names and prices. No part numbers or engine specs. "RON"s invoice stated I paid $12.011.43.

2013 Sept. Received engine that was "Puking" gas. Smell of gasoline everywhere leaving black spots of gas on the rear chrome bumper, tail lights lenses and trunk spoiler.

2014 June. Langley Performance shop specializes in high performance engines, laughed when I said 500 hp at $14K. "Not with this set up". Jason (White's Auto), said I could have bought a crate 502 engine/502HP ($8,891.35) from Dave Wheaton GM, Victoria, BC. or 502 Ramjet $12,624.99. Both engines include a Warranty.

2015 Feb 26, I purchased an Edelbrock EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) Pro Flo XT ($5200CDN). To properly program the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) we needed engine specs. Jason and Duncan (White's Auto) asked "RON", Do you have the specs for the compression and camshaft? "RON" replied, Yes, but "RON" refused to supply them.

2015 Oct/Nov. "RON" spoke with Jason (White's Auto) and was upset at my post. Jason urged "RON" to provide the specs and that I would (and will) remove this post. I asked Jason to ask "RON" for the ProFORM Carburetor or the $1,000 he promised.

"RON" told Jason, he doesn't remember the ProForm carb and requested proof. So I sent 5 photos. (see photo - "RON" is standing behind the ProFORM carb, in the Dyno room at Precision Valve & Crank).

2016 Jan 21. NO specs, NO ProForm carb or compensation.

2016 Jan 22. Jason (White's Auto) stated that "RON" denied any knowledge of the ProForm carb and the promise to pay for it. "RON" threatened "White's Auto" with a law suite. Ron added that he does not believe I will remove this post after he supplies the engine specs and the ProForm carb money. "RON" stated, why would he pay $1000 for a carb he can get for $500.

I'LL STAND BEHIND MY WORD!!!!
"I PROMISE TO REMOVE ALL POSTS ONCE WE RECEIVE & VERIFY THE CORRECT ENGINE SPECS (TUNING THE EFI) & WILL ACCEPT $500 FOR THE PROFORM CARB". Thats more than fair considering what I paid!

I asked specifically 2 times to be called before they start doing any work on my engine head. After a few days I got a call stating that the head was ready to be picked up without receiving the cost at my request by phone (didn't receive any call before to be informed of the cost), I had to find the big surprise once at their shop.

I did same type of head from another car in another shop previously and I can say that the price at Precision is at least twice other shops if not even higher, but this is what they charge and we can't argue with that if they would have told us in advance as per our request.

I provided new OEM head, New valves and seals, they had to swap springs and bolts from the old head and they suggested that the new oem head needed to be resurfaced.

Cost for this job $733 pst excluded.

I thought that I found a machining shop close to me to do all the future jobs but I definitely won't go back.

From this experience I would not recommend.

Had my motor built else where and they did a horrible job problem after problem got these guys to build it about a year ago and cars running great! Ron helped me out from the start of build to end and used the best parts possible and kept it within my budget. Highly recommend for any engine build!!

My boyfriend and I had a big block built for our street rod. These guys are the best in town, and you'll find they are well known and respected. Not only did they exceed our expected power numbers, the price was more than fair too. If performance is a priority this is the place to go - you'll be hard pressed to have a custom engine built more powerful for the money. Putting in a new engine is no simple task and for that reason their follow up service is second to none. They've kept in contact with us for months making sure everything is running and how it should, and they are always happy to answer any questions (no matter the hour). Oh and a side benefit we now have the nastiest sounding big block in the city. Thanks to Ron & all the guys @ Precision!!

I was recommend by some friends that already had work done by Precision Racing Engines. When I was up there doing a car show, I had met Ron and I had told him that I needed to get my engine repair or rebuild. I was told by another mechanical what sort of wrong with the motor. So, I had book it in November to get it rebuild. Well, when they had pulled the motor out and on the bench, Ron had called me and they took the engine apart in front of me. It had more problems than expected. So, we talked about it and went with full rebuild. I knew the cam was bad, but it looked like somebody took a grinder to it. Two cylinders were bad. It was already bored out at 40, so now it is a 60. As the engine was getting build Ron had called me to let me know what parts were going in and kept will informed. Before they started rebuilding the motor he had asked me how much HP I wanted and told him between 400 & 500. When the motor was finish Ron had called me to see it on the dyno and it pulled 525hp and 501 torque. I was very happy. After when I got the car back in early March, ( I told them they all winter to rebuild it), it sure was big difference from it was before. They asked me to bring it back for it's first which I did after 3000kms. The oil came out clean. (I was there when they it). On my Chevelle, I have a fiberglass hood and was a chrome pole to hold open the hood and Miguel said why don't you the springs for it. I told him I couldn't find them. Within 5 minutes asked if he can order it and I said yes and within a week it was on my car. Dwayne made sure the carb was always tuned and the motor just right great. I want to thank them all for what they have done and some of them have went out their way to help. If anyone asked me to recommend a place, they would be it and I have already recommend them
Well, I had the car on the road for awhile now and have put on approx. 4000km and the it is running great. The power is there when I need it and that is barley touching the pedal. I don't think I have put my foot really into it yet but the Ron & the boys did a great job. I highly recommend them if you have motor to be rebuild.

Excellent Job - Exactly what I paid for.

If you're looking for overnight results, a cheap patch up or to hide problems, go somewhere else.
If you're looking to get the most out of an engine, and do it right the first time this is the place to take it in the greater- vancouver area.

Ron & his crew are well known in the community for a reason, you'll find a good reputation precedes them. This is not the kind of place that will cover up a problem just to tell you what you want to hear. Expect honest, reliable service for a fair price. They rebuilt my .030 over 454 for me. I know enough about engines but when it comes down to it, I want the best. Didn't have to ask around for long before being reffered to precision. For the fair price it was definitely worth the peace of mind. I've also had nothing but good follow up service since it's been running. Great job guys Thanks
