I placed an order with Pewter Graphics for several rain jackets with logo to be embroidered. The jackets arrived very quickly and the quality was amazing. Once the order was distributed I realized I needed one more jacket. Within 2 days my add on jacket was ready for pick up! Incredible service. I won't hesitate to use them again.

I was very unpleased with the customer service I received from Pewter Graphics.

Back in January, I was called by a sales rep, Pierre. He had called our business multiple times, on a cold call basis, to drum up business. He was always polite, and seemed straight forward with me. After a few calls, with no sale, he called me to tell me about a great deal on polo shirts. He informed me that if I bought two of these shirts listed at $49 each, I could buy them for $24.50 each, and have my company logo stitched in for an additional $4.95 a shirt. We agreed on sizing, the logo, and colours of the shirt, and i asked Pierre to send me a quote with the final pricing. I told Pierre we would see how the quality is, and i would be potentially putting in a bigger order with our staff to purchase from.

That day, I received a done up quote, with a sub total of $59.90. I agreed to the quote, and was told the shirts would be in the mail shortly.

They arrived a week later than promised - potentially not Pewter's fault with the lock down and Covid restrictions. I never received a bill, just a packing slip. I emailed Pierre, and asked where the invoice was, to which I got no reply.

A few days later, another employee, Jamie emailed a copy of my invoice. I was absolutely floored when i saw a balance owing of $110.53. (The shirts, with tax worked out to $66.56 as per the quote).

Pewter Graphics had tacked on a $38.90 shipping charge. I emailed Pierre, and he told me the following...

"Ryan,

I am terribly sorry for the extreme shipping amount, I had no idea it would be so high. Our operations handles all shipping so that was out of my control.

For the quote we can’t determine on our end (sales) how much shipping would cost from order to order.

I’m terribly sorry,
I totally understand the shock and it’s extremely annoying to over pay for an item. I will phone our boss and see what we can do to remedy this. "

First off, the salesman never told me there was shipping chare, nor was it included on my final quote. In a world where free shipping is common practice, if the amount is unknown, you should prep the customer for the fact there will be atleast a nominal shipping charge.

But paying the shipping wasn't the issue, it was that i was priced gauged on the shipping, to make up for the sale price of the shirts. I contacted both UPS and Canada Post, and they told me that the cost of this shipment should not be more than $9-$15, depending on the method chosen. They told me that no shipment option that size would cost $38.90 to get from British Columbia to Ontario.

When i explained this to Pierre, he said he spoke to the CEO who would offer a 10% discount on my purchase. When i received the updated bill 2 weeks later, only 10% had been deducted off the shipping. I know had paid $27.55 for the shipping, for a grand total of $97.90.

My salesman went quiet and did not respond to my email. I was contacted by the receptionist for payment. The bill is paid, and i sucked up the nearly additional $40. I bought these shirts because i thought they were a great deal. I was mislead, and am glad i did not buy the bulk order from Pewter Graphics.

Moral of the story, ask Pewter Graphics the total price with shipping. If they tell you they do not know, than i would suggest you buy elsewhere. My shirts literally could have bought their own plane ticket on Spirit Airlines for the cost of shipping this company charges. We will no longer be buying from this company, and will recommend to my colleagues to be cautious.

Got some of the double wall travel mugs printed here for my parents to giveaway as prizes for a tournament. Got to work with the staff to design my own logo so it was exactly what I wanted. They’re great. My mum won one and loves her mug - says it keeps her tea hot all day.

Very poor business/time management. I had a small personal project I needed completed for my wedding, in a short period of time. But I was told it was possible. Steven Tobber took my items and said he'd email the next day with a quote. 5 days later he contacted me saying he didn't have time to complete the project.

Fantastic service and prices. We had some staff shirts made up by Pewter Graphics and they were so easy to deal with.
