I put a lot of thought into how to describe my experience with Mike at Peak Precision before I wrote this review.

I'm a local gunsmith, firearms historian and collector. When I first contacted Peak Precision, it was with the intention of having a 5 minute job done to a modern production Win 1876 to allow for easier use of modern brass. After a short conversation, I dropped by his shop feel out whether it was the sort of thing they were qualified/comfortable with. 4 hours of enthusiastic conversation later, I walked out with the modification I had in mind, a verification of component hardness, more concise measurements of most critical components, tighter headspace, and a reprofiled barrel.

Not only did Mike do this spontaneously after hours, but we collaborated on historicity of the changes, he offered feedback on how to do it in a more structurally sound way, and was able to do the work to tolerances 10 times tighter than industry standard. What he didn't know was that this was this project was done in memoriam to my brother who passed in 2022, and finding someone willing to do this obscure and detailed work has been extremely difficult.

The work he did was above a standard anyone could reasonably expect, and he managed it in an unheard of timeline. I'll be directing any and all business I have in the future to him, and will be encouraging others to do the same.
