Went with a work group. A busy afternoon. Lots of donations to be sorted. But why do people donate out of date food items they wont eat themselves? And opened packets of food?

I am writing about my experience with them first, why do we come to you? Of course, because we are either new here and life is expensive and difficult and we have not found work yet and we are in need. If we were not like that, we would not have come and endured the cold, snow, and rain and riding two buses, not one. But they expelled me and said you must go to your place of residence or address. They could have given me something and told me this time only without insulting or breaking my heart. I returned sad and hopeless. In Halifax, life is different and the Food Bank is merciful, in addition to the fact that they do not hold people accountable as much as in Ottawa.

Havent been but bantree is a long walk when i live in beechwood in calgary wharehouse foodbank they say come by car or taxi thats jow much food they reading the reveiws i guess they dont give as much just 7 days of food the i go to makes us wait 7 day before they give food an only crap an 3 yr olds need i.d hopefully this foodbank understands they here to help the neady not treat us like children or crimals

They are absolutely amazing. The volunteers are friendly and the office staff are there to answer your questions. You can even donate virtually by PayPal fund and also fundraising as well ❤️‍🩹
