I had a weird experience here the other day. Came in to buy a couple of things for a project, I was able to find what I needed in the store quickly and easily. Went to the counter to pay and the 2 guys near the end of the counter (both in hats) were laughing and talking together and I felt ignored so I walked away. I was approached by another employee and asked if I needed a hand, and the help I did receive after that was exceptional. I didn’t get his name but he was working at the first computer on the front desk right when you walk in. He took time to answer a couple questions, explained and took the time to bring different options out from the warehouse (was looking for concrete anchors and we checked out a couple of different styles). He was super friendly, knowledgeable and didn’t make me feel dumb. Kudos to him!

The in store selection of Milwaukee here is also awesome!!

Delivery dock for this location is dock 4, staff is nice and friendly! Offloading very quick! While waiting offload, you can walk to McDonald to get a take out order!

Mid-Canada Fasteners & Tools. Look, it’s a solid place. They got the power tools, all the big shiny toys that make you feel like a man. But holy hell, THE HOURS. These guys close at, what, five? Five o’clock?! Who’s buying a table saw at 2 p.m. on a Tuesday? NO ONE. Everyone’s at their job, trying not to get fired.

Stay open till 8! It’s not rocket science. People get off work, they wanna buy a hammer drill, a saw, maybe even a reciprocating saw to blow off some steam but no, you’re closed, like you’re running a boutique candle shop. It’s a TOOL STORE. The smell of sawdust and oil. This is blue collar Disneyland, and you close it right when people can actually go?

And don’t even get me started on the LOCATION. By the airport. The freakin’ airport! Yeah, nothing says “convenient shopping” like fighting traffic, dodging semis, and circling cargo trucks just to buy a set of drill bits. I swear, half the people going there probably thought they were parking for WestJet. Who decided this?! “Hey, let’s hide the power tools store where nobody lives, next to a runway!” Genius!

You’re not doing yourselves any favors. Centralize it! Put it somewhere normal. Downtown, a strip mall, hell, even next to a Tim Hortons. Anywhere people actually GO. Instead it feels like you need TSA clearance and a boarding pass just to buy a cordless drill.

Great store, great selection, but the hours and the location? Absolute nightmare. Feels less like shopping and more like planning a vacation around their schedule.

I’m very, very happy with the service I just received from Julian.

I came into Mid-Can today unsure on what tools I wanted to go with, but set on a certain price point that I wanted to stay in.

Julian introduced himself the second I came in the door and gladly walked me through a variety of different options. He showed me options that were tailored to my needs and my job. He was very professional and thorough all throughout, and narrowed down options to make it so easy to choose from.

After weighing out my options, I decided to go with the Milwaukee 7-Piece Tool Set. I’m very happy with my purchase, and a lot of the credit goes to Julian for making this a seamless process.

I’d recommend anyone going to Mid-Can ask for Julian as he’s very knowledgeable and was very, very easy to communicate with.

These guys actually know what they’re talking about. If you’re remotely serious about product knowledge and spending your money the right way when it comes to tools, these guys are a one stop shop. They carry the best brands and have deals that beat the big box stores. I deal with Kai and he’s the best.
