This is definitely an upscale establishment. It's a great environment. Very clean, very pleasant staff. I see the products are top notch as reflected in the pricing. The bakery section, breads and cakes always remains a favourite but be prepared to pay. Better to pay a little more and really enjoy the experience. I really enjoy their take out pizza. Kudos to Michelle D. at Market Fresh!

I recently witnessed Michelle D., from the hot food counter, training a new employee with remarkable respect and a constant smile. Her patient demeanour was truly impressive.

What stood out even more was her sharp focus on food safety. After serving, she immediately swapped the used tongs for a rubber-handled pair, instructing the new hire to only use them for fish to prevent cross-contamination.

As a trained hospitality and food service professional, I was thoroughly impressed by Michelle's dedication to both excellent customer service and rigorous food safety protocols. It's reassuring to see such high standards at one of Guelph's top food outlets. As a regular customer, Michelle's genuine smile and service always make a difference!

I am always picky with my food, fruits specifically deserts. This is one of my favourite store // bakery. From fresh food, cook food, fresh cuts, and bake goods they will never let u down. U need cakes or desserts for special occasions they have it and if you prefer for special cakes u can call them and they will make it ready for u in 2-3 days. Recommended for everyone to

I am not usually a person who leaves bad reviews, but the amount of chaos that has resulted from my most recent experience with Market Fresh isn't something that I would wish on anyone.

I requested and confirmed that Market Fresh would be providing the catering services for my wedding reception in September 2025 well over a year ago. I called on Friday to confirm the numbers of portions and how many chafing dishes we would need for the event.

Rather than confirming the catering services they had committed to providing me, however, they informed me, very flippantly, that they are not only no longer offering catering services, but the person who had confirmed my catering 9 months ago no longer even works there.

They did not try to contact me to let me know that they would not be able to fulfill their commitment. They did not offer an apology for their lack of foresight and planning. They have now left me without a caterer, only 4 months before the wedding, and I highly doubt I would have even been informed of this change if I had not contacted them myself.

As you might expect, many of the other reservations we made for our wedding revolved around the assumption that our catering was coming from them. I am now scrambling to find a new caterer on incredibly short notice, and will have to forfeit a $500 non-refundable deposit due to the negligence of Market Fresh. If you have confirmed catering services with them in the past 12 months, I would recommend quickly changing your plans. If you are planning on reaching out to them for catering in the future, I would recommend being very careful. The lack of consideration they displayed is astonishing.

Edit: As the reply to this review indicates an astounding lack of accountability, I have added a photo of the email that I sent to the chef confirming our booking. Perhaps the issue is simply poor record keeping, however, in regards to the level of commitment and the extent of the communication that I had with their head chef, I have an abundant amount of proof that I did not simply have a consultation, but rather, had a confirmed booking for catering services.

This is really nice shop with friendly and helpful staff. There is lots of variety but not as much as one of the large grocery chain stores. However, everything is good quality and there is more selection than one might think for a small store. The vegetables are always fresh. There are lots of meats, breads, and cheeses. It must good because it is always busy with loyal customers.

Lovely grocery store with the best butcher and selection of meats. You can do some quick shopping or go to the checkout area and buy food or coffees to go. Nice seating area outside if you want to sit and enjoy what you purchased.
