Here to pickup a trailer , at midnight. My load is ready but gate security told me to go in office. There a white old man in the office . Very rude guy. Ask him for paperwork. And he told me I don’t care what security said . You will get paperwork in morning. My paperwork is right front of him . But they r so lazy to just give it to me . If they don’t care about work then better quit the job. Rather than humiliating drivers

Considering how bad the folks next door (Rothsay/Darling Ingredients) stink up the area, it's always a pleasant surprise when I get out of my car and the neighbourhood smells like smoked ham.

Also if you're lucky enough to get stopped at a red light at Lagimodiere around Christmas, they sometimes have people handing out free packs of bacon!

In 2016, my first job in Canada was with Maple Leaf. Most of the employees and the team lead were from the Philippines and didn't speak English. I was the only Black employee and felt lonely in that environment. I left the job after three months and hope the company has since diversified its workforce.

I love all the management and team at precooked bacon made me feel like a valued part of the team. Ham boning is another story... Scummy mangement who lie, promise you big things and then say anything they can to fire you whether it's true or not. Chad or whatever his name is in specific. This guy couldn't manage his way out of a wet paper bag. I had a great expierence in my intial time at maple leaf, only to be ruined and tarnished by awful mangement on the ham boning side. Where they also expect an unrealistic speed of work with no praise or encouragement. When we would work beyond the scope in precooked bacon they would reward us for our hard work. In ham boning you get worn out and told its okay. If I could go less than 1 star for ham boning it would be negative 5. Shout out to all the great management on the precooked bacon side though, Warren, Astrid, Dimitri, Paul, Andrea thank you, you made my time on PCB great and showed true mangement skills every step of the way.

They didn't finish their break at 1 p.m. at receiving (door 18). Be sure to go late. Me and one more truck driver and I have been waiting for more than 25 min. No one showed.

Every once in awhile, I like to take my four fully-grown adult children out into the world to explore its natural wonder. Often, we'll stop by here, and I'll gladly point to the hogs being offloaded from the truck, and say to them, "that's where your mother and I made all of you."
