This is such a beautiful store! They carry various things for fibre art such as yarn, fabrics, etc… What was most fascinating was all the unique hand dyed yarn available, most yarn stores usually don’t carry a lot of this type of yarn but in this store the majority of it was. The environment is also very calming and peaceful. The staff were kind and insightful as well. We walked out with three crochet pattern books but will definitely come back!! If you do knitting, crochet, quilting, or sewing definitely go and give this place a visit ?

Such a sweet shop! The energy is wonderful and there is always a fun workshop happening in the space. The selection of products is phenomenal -- so many beautiful colours of fabric. I would highly recommend visiting Maker Savvy for your project needs!

I recently came across Maker Savvy as I started a new job a few stores down. Today I went in at my lunch break to buy solid 100% cotton. I found the person who served me to be very nice and helpful. She gave me a great tip of serging the ends of my fabric before I pre-wash to avoid fraying. I also loved how the fabrics I bought was a very reasonable price at $12.50 to $14.50 a meter. Will definitely be returning for future projects!

Today was my first visit...and will not be my last. I was able to collect my Bernina machine part and threads...and spent the rest of the time like a kid in a candy store. In addition, the staff were exceptionally patient and cheerful in spite of my many questions and exuberance. I was practically bouncing because I was so happy to find so many of the products I needed.

Extraordinarily poor service and even worse customer relations. I brought my Bernina in for servicing in July to very specifically have the stitch length knob fixed. The machine was supposed to be ready in 2-3 weeks. Instead, they kept it for 7 weeks with extremely poor communication. 7 weeks and $360, my Bernina was returned to me with the SAME BROKEN SL KNOB! According to them, it's not broken but that despite owning this very expensive machine for all these years, I just don't know how to use it.
Convenient. After an ongoing battle with Maker Savvy, they offered to take another look- under warranty. However, I was mailed an additional list of potential costs to repair the original problem, despite now being a warranty call. This is the worst experience I have ever had in the 30 years I've been sewing and my machine is still broken after $360. I want my money back so I can take it somewhere that cares. THIS IS AN AWFUL STORE with atrocious service. I, too, encourage you to find another quilt store that can offer the service you deserve.

I brought my sewing machine in for service and provided three specific needs. When I picked up my machine, two of the three requests were not addressed and the employee could not explain why. She did, however, commit to forwarding my concerns to Wendy and assured me she would call me back the next day to discuss. It has been over three weeks later and I’m still waiting for a call. Extraordinarily poor service and even worse customer relations. I encourage you to find another quilt store that can offer the service you deserve.

Bright and friendly atmosphere. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They carry a selection of artisan yarns, knitting and crocheting notions; quilting fabrics and notions; classes for knitters and quilters of all ages and experience levels. Bernina sewing machines and service. Drop in and see what is going on.

I expected more from a Bernina dealership. I brought my Bernina in for servicing in July to have the stitch length knob fixed. It wouldn't adjust. The issue is clearly recorded in the service ticket and the invoice. The machine was supposed to be ready in 2-3 weeks. Instead, they kept it for 7 weeks. When they finally got around to it, they told me the take up lever was broken. I agreed to the repair, repeating that I expected whatever they did would resolve the broken stitch length adjustment. With Wendy's assurance that the machine was getting a 'spa treatment' and everything would be returned in perfect working order, I ok'ed the repair. 7 weeks and $360, later, I got my Bernina home with the SAME BROKEN SL KNOB! Their invoice reads "SL is slightly intermittent- improves with use". This meaningless statement couldn't be further from the truth. There is nothing intermittent about the problem - it is constant and consistent. After an ongoing battle with Maker Savvy, they offered to take another look- under their warranty this time, yet presented me with another statement of potential repair costs. This shop has reached a new low in customer relations.
