On our way to Yukon, we were looking for a great knife maker to create a custom knife.
And we heard about JD Knives.
The pictures we saw on internet were already magnificent but as soon as we entered the shop, the experience got to a whole other level.
"Making your own custom knife" with Jesse is meaningful in every sense of the words, the only limit is your imagination, he is able to do everything you're looking for.
He is a talented perfectionnist and an ingenious artisan. He is also a really good person with a big heart.
Jesse and his family have showed us their workshop with passion and opened their hearts with great kindness. We will never forget that.
More than highly recommended, it is a "must go" or a "must get in contact with" for whoever is looking for a unique piece of craftsmanship.

Sur notre route vers le Yukon, on cherchait un bon coutelier pour créer un couteau personnalisé.
Et nous avons découvert JD Knives.
Toutes les photos que nous avions vues sur internet étaient déjà magnifiques mais une fois passé le seuil de la porte,  l'expérience "coutellerie" a pris une autre dimension.
"Faire un couteau sur mesure" prend ici tout son sens, il n'y a aucune limite autre que votre imagination, il peut tout faire, vraiment tout.
Jesse est talentueux et perfectionniste. Il est Ă©galement une belle personne avec un grand cƓur.
Jesse et sa famille nous ont ouvert la porte de leur entreprise et celle de leur cƓur, ils nous ont montrĂ© leur passion et leur gentillesse. Une expĂ©rience que nous ne sommes pas prĂȘts d'oublier.
Bien plus que recommandé, c'est un passage obligatoire pour n'importe quel amateur de couteau ou de rares objets d'artisanat.

I'm extremely impressed with the quality of Jesse's work. The knife is a work of art to the point where I'm almost afraid to get it dirty. I also ordered a sheath, plus a second sheath for a knife made by Heinz Leber nearly 30 years ago, and the sheaths are masterfully made. The fit, quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail is just phenomenal. Couldn't be happier with my purchases, and excited to put them to use this hunting season!

I do a lot of quilting and recently took in some shears for sharpening, including this older pair. I had picked them up somewhere from a garage sale and didn’t really know much about them. They really needed sharpening, were a bit loose, and they were just really showing their age. I had owned them for years but honestly never used them.

The owner, Jessie, was the one that informed me that they were a very well made and valuable set of shears and that of the ones I brought in, if I cared for this set, they’d pretty much be all I needed. I never thought to take before and after pictures - but the shears I took in and the ones I got back were like night and day. Not only did he sharpen and oil them, he repainted the handle's and repaired them. They look amazing and the cut is fantastic. I really cannot say enough about how kind they were, how knowledgeable and how great of work they did. Truly a gem of a business in our community. 😊

Jesse’s work is beautiful! Ive known Jesse for many years and he is a honest and talented individual with a passion for the edge. The knives he makes are distinctive and flavoured with his native heritage - definitely worth the dollar.
He is a trust worthy man and accomplished blacksmith/bladesmith.

I gave Jesse 700$to create my husbands bearded axe.. something he’s wanted forever.. after almost 2 years and my husband demanding a refund Jesse finally “finished” the axe
 it was not at all what it should have been.. damaged wood.. dirty blade.. it was awful.. and Jesse offering to “fix” it after 2 years was ridiculous
 he only produced it when my husband asked for money back
 so sad
 I thought Jesse as a person was amazing.. but his business is sadly lacking
