I am a first time buyer never had island city bakery’s bread before. I will say the loaf I bought (olive sourdough) is quite good taste wise! Makes for a nice sandwich loaf. However I nearly just broke my tooth on what I assume is an olive pit. Slight suggestion to do a bit more QAQC’ing on your loaves before sending them out or just be careful how and where you put your pitted olives.

Ps this continued through half the loaf recommend checking each slice before eating.

Island City Baking has quickly become my go-to-bread in Vancouver, and it’s not hard to see why. Great selections available at Whole Foods. We’ve consistently purchased their plain styles and each loaf is a standout—always fresh, with a perfect crust and a soft, airy interior that tastes like it’s straight from the oven.

So far, we’ve stuck to the basics, but given the high quality of these loaves, I’m eager to explore more of their offerings. The variety of other types of loaves they have on display is quite tempting, and if they’re anything like the ones we’ve tried, I’m sure they won’t disappoint.

The frozen mini ciabatta buns are awful. I thought they didn’t cook properly because we were using the camper oven.
Tried them at home and still a huge NOPE!
Round hard lacrosse balls is what I would compare them to

Don't do this 'technical' boast of 'made with butter' on the front label of your 'brioche' buns, when 'vegetable oil margarine' is clearly several ingredients ahead.
You're already taking part in the trend of naming a product brioche that doesn't nearly fit; to then emphasize this actually minuscule component of your product, is intentionally misleading. 2 stars because it's slightly funny.

Your breads are wonderful especially the olive sourdough but pls stop using the resealable tape to close the bags. The tape doesn’t always reseal properly.

This sour bread we bought for a few years. We really loved it! Now it seems to have a lot of holes in it, and cant spread anything on it without it falling apart. Very disappointing to be complaining about it every few months. This has been happening for the past few years. Wish they would fix the problem already. Our conclusion is we’re changing our bread. You lost us as customers

This has been my go-to bread for the last 2 years however since changing the packaging, the last 5 loaves of bread I purchased (from whole foods) all went mouldy well before the date on the tag. I was hoping it was a one-off thing but unfortunately I need to stop buying Island city products due to this issue. Also the contact form on their website doesn’t work as I have tried to address this issue directly with Island city.

The best sourdough in the market I am literally obsessed! I always need a stock of it in my house (I typically get my hands on the bronze age sourdough at my local whole foods) It is good on its own and when its toasted it is incredible. Bronze age sometimes always sells out quick during the week cause it is that good!! I cant get enough of it and I will not replace it with any other breads out there.
