Cedar St. Eats Cafe Review:

We tried the cafe inside the store, we had high hopes from our research + reviews, but the fellow behind the counter was curt/rude & said they closed at 2pm, (it says 3:30pm online & it was around 2:30pm).

So we bought some pre-made items from the cooler (he rudely pointed towards the area & waved us off) ~ the Turkey Cran. Sandwich was decent, the Hummus wrap was really dry & lacking hummus (he had laughed & said NO, when we asked about extra hummus for the wrap, incase it needed more), the Mexican Bean Salad was bland & the 2 Chicken Almond Salads we bought ($18 each) had very little thin chicken slices & the dressing wasn't good (strong taste, not pleasant) + only given a tiny container of dressing, for a large salad.

Disappointed with the poor quality of the food (it's expensive as well) & the lack of service, the 1 staff member was not kind or caring, nor helpful.

We came from out of town (45min drive). We did not purchase anything from the store itself, so can't comment ~ it looked like a nice store, well stocked. Really disappointed in the Cafe, don't recommend.

I love Organic friendly grocery stores that support local businesses. This store has all of that and is very vegan friendly too.
Nice cafe type restaurant inside with quick (but super expensive) delicious meals for everyone.
I personally don’t think the staff were very friendly on multiple visits there.

It’s a ok store to shop, but it’s outrageously expensive and they seem to have a monopoly on the town . Seeing as that’s the only health food store in Campbell River.
But the thing that really bothers me is when every time I go there to shop I’am constantly being hovered over like i’m a thief.
At first I thought I was overreacting, but then I started really paying attention every time I go in , and every time the same thing happens . Usually with the same lady with the boys haircut , she’s about 75 i’d say .
So I go there today looking for some caster oil and I asked that lady if they carried it . She is always really short with people and down right rude sometimes, I’m not sure if she means to do it or she’s just got resting you know what face.
But after she gave me her normal short I don’t really care answer , I crouched down to read the different caster oil products seeing as they’re on the very bottom shelf .
Then there it was that little boys haircut peek around the end of the aisle to see if I was stealing.
This time I was fairly annoyed and called her on it , she proceeded to tell me she was just stalking shelves . She didn’t realize I already caught her out of the corner of my eye creeping me around the corner of the aisle.
This wouldn’t have bothered me so much if it was my first time in the store, but i’m in that store a fair amount and spend a ridiculous amount of money I even have racked up points card being in there so often .
Now reading the rest of the bad reviews, it makes more sense , they treat common people like thieves and god forbid your Aboriginal or they stock you even more . If you’re a person of colour I wouldn’t give them a dime of your money, they don’t deserve it . Shame on you .
And let me be clear, not all over their employees are rude and short with people, only a select few. But the ones that are , get an attitude adjustment or find a job that doesn’t include customer service . And stop being so racist . Very very disrespectful.

Love the store. Didn’t find what I was looking for but I did find the Canadian made natural Routine Deodorant that I love to use.

Wonderful little shop full of interesting and healthy products. The shop itself is very new feeling, clean, and beautifully presented. They have a great selection of items in the vitamin and natural beauty product area too. The staff are very helpful. Love that this little gem is close to home.
