It's really difficult to find skilled tradesmen these days, and Larry is one, with 47 years experience as a machinist! They don't make em like Larry anymore. He and his team demonstrated ingenuity, extreme dogged determination and excellent customer service while essentially saving me from a complete top end tear down on my motorbike. His competition in Stittsville refused to look at my bike and said I'd have to bring the head in... Ride on!

Came here twice, both for fairly small jobs. Both times I was given a very fair price based on the actual time required to complete the job. It's clear they have a lot of experience and know what they're doing. Overall, good work, good service and very fair and honest pricing. Would return for future jobs, and would recommend for others. I did a bit of looking around and got extortionate quotes from other machinists, some of which clearly had no idea what they were talking about.

I've shown up at this place with some weird projects; surface grind Porsche 911 engine torque plates, manufacture trailer axle wear rings, and modify a skidsteer loader bearing installer. Every time the work has been excellent and the price has been very fair. A great resource!

This place is a gem. I live in the neighbourhood and had walked by many, many times. Today I needed to re-drill some holes in a 6mm stainless steel plate, so I thought I'd ask if they could help. I walked in and they did the job on the spot, and didn't even charge me for it despite not knowing me at all. Thank you so much, you guys are life savers!

Incompetent is not a word I use often, but will be routinely used when describing Larry and General Grinding.

DO NOT ask for a quote. The work will be done and you will be left owing instead of being able to budget. Changed bearing sizes without discussing with me, probably because that would mean I would ask him ANOTHER time for a quote.

When dropping off the materials, I specifically mentioned that I need a quote on the repairs, because my customer is picky on pricing. Needless to say my request was completely ignored.

Great machine shop in the heart of Hintonburg. Nice guys run the place and they're happy to take on even the smallest jobs for the average Joe like me. Although it looks like they do some pretty big jobs too. Went there today and they took care of my little project on the spot. Highly recommend them.
