I have take a few workshops at Gather now and every time it has been a wonderful experience. The staff are so knowledgeable and supportive, and create a comfortable and safe atmosphere to learn. I have always left with a product I am proud of from sewn face masks to tea towels to a sweater I’ve woven and sewn! I look forward to taking more classes at Gather.

I tried weaving off and on for years and it was always a struggle understanding the process and techniques, until I took an in-person course with Kim at Gather. I now weave regularly and with the support from all the staff at this studio, I can say that weaving is my new happy place. The owners, Kim and Angela, their colleague Shannon, and staff are extremely patient, kind and thoughtful in teaching and supporting new weavers. I've enrolled in various workshops and every time finish the class with a deeper understanding of weave structure, techniques and of course a cherished finished product. They work hard with local artisans, and wool and fibre producers, not only in the Edmonton area, but Alberta and the rest of Canada to offer a truly buy local business. Edmonton is lucky to have this weaving and sewing studio!!

I have been going to Gather for weaving supplies, fibres, and education (and let’s be real, emotional support) for years now and would not go anywhere else. I know every item sold there is held to a high standard. The staff are experts in their crafts but are also extremely approachable to beginner weavers/crafters and always game to help problem solve. From their online course and in-person consultation service to more advanced workshops there is something for every skill level. I always come away from a visit inspired and eager to make something new!

I first learned about Gather during the pandemic, when I used their EXCELLENT online course to learn to weave. I can't imagine a better way to learn to weave. It was such a helpful resource to have at hand when learning all of the steps in weaving.

The store is also excellent with a great selection of sometimes hard to find supplies. Everyone who works there has always been welcoming, helpful and generous with their knowledge. I've come to think of them as friends. They make weaving interesting and accessible.

I've moved out of town, but I still take the online zoom workshops when I can and order supplies (and get a lot of useful tips) from them.

I took lessons here, its a great place with a comfy atmosphere, I had no clue how to sew and was in a class with a hobbyist and a aspiring fashion student. I did not feel out of place at all, Angela was helpful and understanding giving each student the attention they deserved. She does not force you to do projects, you get to choose to do what ever you want to do each week or over the course of multiple sessions. I would not only recommend for adult of all skill levels but i have been around when she teaches all ages of children and she is always great with all of them.

Really enjoyed shopping here. I got all my questions answered and was given good advice for warping and things to do to make it easier! They have a lot of stock and what's not in stock can be ordered online.
