I've used a lot of custom tool grinders before, but none compare to the precision of Cuttermasters. This grinder operates with the accuracy and reliability you'd expect from a top-of-the-line factory machine. Highly recommended for anyone serious about their craft!

CutterMasters is an amazing company only surpassed by their amazing products and customer support! I ordered a unit for sharpening my lathe tools and the unit turned into a sharpener for everything. It was super easy to get the parts I needed to expand the unit into everything I needed it to do now. I also can see if I ever want to sharpen anything else in the future I can expand its capabilities quickly and easily. The slow-speed unit and the CBN wheels are amazing plus the ability to get up to 2500 RPM for other jobs is amazing. Smooth, reliable, and easy.

I was getting ready to get an 8 inch grinder and aluminum oxide wheels when I discovered the Cuttermasters’ products.

The more I researched, the more I realized this would be a life time investment and is far superior to the general grinding setup.

Jeff at Cuttermasters was more than helpful. He did not mind my many emails and phone calls to help address my concerns and help point to the machine that would fit my requirements.

For those of you that are researching, in order to get the best machine for your shop, I encourage you to consider a Cuttermasters’ machine, as it will be a fine investment for you shop.

I am a toolmaker. Fabricating and repairing surgical instrumentation for 40 years.

The grinder is one of the most important tools in the shop for those doing anything fancy.

About 3 years ago I was at my wits end and exploring options for grinders.
I came across the Toycen “Tradesman Machinist” and was stunned.
Changed the way I worked. Not just a productivity tool but also allowing much greater accuracy when grinding. It is a beautiful thing to be able to apply pressure to the wheel and have only one variable – that being the operator. The machine dutifully purrs along at whatever speed you tell it to regardless of the pressure. Really a game changer.

Vibration is a nasty thing. But when it affects the quality of the job it really starts to cut into your ability to be accurate.

Can’t say enough about this machine.

I own 2. The 1 x 42 belt sander option is very nice as well.

The Tradesman Edge is without a doubt the best grinder that's available for civilian use. The more you push your work into that wheel the more that grinder pushes back without hesitation and will not stop. I've ground tools and bevels into thick plate no matter what it is this grinder can handle it with no spindle run-out and it's so quiet I had to take a sharpie and put a mark on the wheel so if anyone walking up to it would see that it was spinning because it's that smooth and that quiet. And the customer service is first class too. They build your grinder to your needs or they did mine at least. I'm telling everyone about it. And the coin on its edge at full speed without falling over is totally true.

Love, their Mk-2 D5-220 drill grinder.
I've used many ,many different drill grinders including the darex XT3000 and they all seem to grind you a point .005 off center but not the MK-2. I love the simplicity, love that it uses ER25 collets, love it's size. You will need an air hose close by to keep the machine rid of grinding dust. I've only had the machine for 2 weeks and both reground drills were on center within .001 on an optical comparator. This little machine will give you a factory like split point.
I highly recommend, only wish it could regrind a center drill to 60 degrees. Graduations are from 140 degrees to 90 degrees however it will grind you an 82 degree point. This little machine is a steal for under 2k. replacement wheels for colbalt/h.s.s & diamond for carbide are under 200 compared to darex's 600 wheels.
This machine uses the same wheel for grinding and splitting the point so you do not need to purchase 2 separate wheels for point splitting.
I cannot say enough. Absolutely love it?

Pictured is a 3/8 carbide drill reground on the MK-2.

I am the proud and happy owner of your Tradesman grinder, which I primarily use to sharpen my turning gouges, plane blades, and chisels. I absolutely love using this machine! I also own an 8" Baldor slow grinder and a Tormek T-7 with a CBN wheel. The Tradesman beats them both hands down!
