I stopped in on a Tuesday and received a very warm welcome and info for a self guided tour. It’s really quiet remarkable to see these antique mill washing, carding and spinning machines at work! The sales person in the wool shop was very helpful and knowledgeable assisting me with purchases. Will definitely order from them online too!

What an amazing find! Tucked in the last row of a country road, a fully functioning wool carding, dyeing, spinning, sock manufacturing, felting enterprise. Loaded with turn of the century, functioning equipment, this artisanal manufacturer lets you visit the plant and the little wool shop on the same property.

Recently (Nov.15, 2024) I went to Woolen Mills in Carstairs, AB which was a very disappointing experience we were ignored and the sales person wasn't willing to give us a lot of information about yarns and other products. Not sure if that person is belonging to the owners. They would greatly profit from some improvement in sales and machinery. They should invest in a yarn ball winding machine. I am sure people would buy more considering CANADA has the lowest productivity and it shows. Blackbird store in downtown Leduc is a gem compared to that place will buy there next time.

Went here on a guided tour with Stash Needle Art lounge in YYC and had a blast! What a great place and piece of history, so well preserved by the staff, its such an important thing not to let go of our past, even when you have museums and such, there's nothing like talking to people who actually do these things and use these machines to get a real glimpse of what life was like. The staff are so friendly, even their big barn cats are sweet, and must be so talented to pull off running this great place. I'd recommend going here for a tour to anyone, their gift shop and products are great, our tour bus was stuffed full of things on the way back lol!

Very friendly staff who didn't hesitate to make you feel welcome to the mill. We did the self guided tour using their informative laminated cards. Their inventory is amazing and the small shop located beside the mill is well stocked with samples and products. Well worth a visit.
