Not my favourite hotel. The smell of the place is not great. It's an old building with a moderate face-lift. Dogs are allowed but its not overly dog friendly. In walking distance to McDonald's and Tim Hortons which was nice. Staff was fine. No major complaints but also nothing special.

I stayed here recently with my child, and while there were some positives, there were also several issues that made the experience underwhelming.||I booked through a third party and wasn’t informed ahead of time that the hot tub is permanently out of service. That was disappointing, as it was one of the reasons I chose the hotel. That said, the pool area was quiet — we mostly had it to ourselves, and there were plenty of towels available, which was great for my child.||Our first night was in a room with a jetted tub. The tub itself was fine, though the shower head could definitely use an update. Unfortunately, the next morning we discovered a pile of ants coming from the floorboard. My child and I saw at least 50 ants. I cleaned the area myself and reported it. Staff said they checked the room multiple times but couldn’t find anything — yet we clearly did. We left the room and checked out early. No compensation was offered, which felt dismissive.||The man working breakfast was very kind and welcoming. That was a highlight.||We returned for a second night only because it was already prepaid. The third night was canceled and booked elsewhere. The second room (upstairs) had more issues: broken bathroom fixtures that kept falling off, a dirty cloth left in the shower, and empty shampoo/conditioner/body wash dispensers.||The ice machine on our end of the building didn’t work. The beds were fine.||One strange thing — the restaurant is permanently closed, but there are still signs up, the door is open, and the menu is still online as if it’s operating. It gives off a weird, abandoned vibe.||Breakfast on Saturday wasn’t great — several guests noted the sausages looked undercooked.||Overall, the hotel could be great, but right now it feels like a ghost of what it once was. There’s potential, but it really needs better maintenance, cleanliness, and transparency before I’d consider returning.

I had a very good stay at the Copper River Inn in Fort Frances. The hotel is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, but what really stood out was the excellent staff. From check-in to check-out, everyone was friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The front desk staff were helpful with local recommendations, and the restaurant service was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area — great value and top-notch hospitality!

Rooms were slightly above average, hot tub doesn’t work, bar isn’t open, and it took 20 mins for the front desk person to show up upon check in
no elevator so if you’re on the second floor be expected to carry your own bags up a flight of stairs
. Nobody will help you with the doors or anything else! But the air conditioning blows cold as the North Pole đŸ„¶

They’ve clearly put a lot of effort into renovating the lobby area, but my room on the east side of the building was small, dingy, and smelled bad, and had no exterior windows. The floor felt dirty underfoot, and wires were hanging out of the wall behind the nightstand.

Meanwhile, the other person in my party had a room on the west end of the building, which I think might be a new addition. His room was large, comfortable, and had windows. We paid the same rate for both rooms.

Front desk staff were friendly. Continental breakfast was fine, if below average (but the staff working the breakfast was one of the friendliest, most helpful people I’ve encountered).

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I booked two rooms in advance. On arrival day, checking in a 5:30 pm, one of the rooms still wasn't ready. I was asked to wait 10 - 15 minutes, which I did. I went to check my room - housekeeping hadn't touched it. I went back to the front desk and asked for a room that was ready. I was given a new room and key card. I carded into the room and walked in on a man who was checked into the room. Super scary and embarrassing. I went back to front desk and was given another room. At this point, both myself and travel partner decided we would be happier to leave, which we did. I called the hotel the next morning, and asked to speak with a manager. The person who answered the phone and claimed to be the manager. I asked to be refunded for at least one of the rooms. They said they would talk to "their friend"!! And get back to me. Of course, no one has gotten back to me. This place is definitely a no go.

A lovely hotel with a very rustic feel to it which I love and the small town hospitality you expect and love to see for small town Ontario 😊 both of the times I've stayed here have been great I always take the shampoo conditioner and soap bars with me when I come home since they smell amazing! My only complaint is that while the cookies are very nicely decorated they're the worst tasting cookies I've ever had... In their defense it's 50/50 with decorative cookies and taste
