Best service I had from Lumber yard employees in a long time.

I went to Bytown lumber this morning ( Saturday July 27, 2024) to purchase some lumber. I just want to say that i was impressed by the quality customer service I received this morning from the staff; especially the two lumber yard employees that were working outside. Sorry, I did not ask for their names. They were very courteous, professional, efficient and organized. they packed up the lumber like a puzzle inside my van. I was also impressed on how much they cared to not damage / scratch my vehicle while loading the lumber.

I don't understand these 5 star reviews. They must be the staff or families. I've gone there twice before and they didn't have what I needed and didn't seem to really care. I went there last week looking for G1S plywood, as soon as I asked I was told to go check Home Depot. I'm all for buying local, but this place is useless to me. They're not near anyone, and they don't ever have basics, and their service sucks. Just a weird place. Maybe only for contractors? Who knows.

It's hard to say enough good things about this place. Their prices and quality both beat the national chains. They also genuinely want to help you, delivery is painless simple and affordable. It's not everywhere that someone jumps up from behind the counter to help you find the screws that you inevitably will need more of than you think.

Excellent customer service. I had an idea of what I wanted to do and their staff was able to help with the details I had missed and correct issues I had with my plan.

This "extra mile" also saved me about $300 that I didn't need to spend and solved a potential structural issue.

This is my new home for any DIY tools, material and knowledge needs.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Wood was far far far above recommended moisture content. Thousands spent on wood which I feel like re-doing now because it's all cracked to hell. My 4x4's look like chopped firewood they're so split.
