It's a destination again!
I used to visit this shop when an undergrad at UVic. My grandmother bought beautiful wools and silks, and I occasionally found the perfect buttons. It waned in intervening years, but I visited with a friend when on the island in early August and was genuinely impressed. The saleswomen knew their stock, even when I was searching for something out of season; they dug something out of a backroom that matched my description. And then we discovered the William Morris and Liberty fabrics selection; it was an impressive collection, and well-priced (for such fine quality). My friend and I left empty handed that particular day, but full of ideas, inspiration, and a welcome to come back. The next time I'm on the island, I'll be going back (to purchase, this time!).

new to the store, but always get excellent service. The owner found the perfect buttons for a coat I am making. Saved me a lot of time going through the incredible collection of buttons. On the downside I did not have an excuse to keep going through the collection of buttons.

For my next project , I am picking out some of her beautiful buttons first, and then finding yarn to match them.

Small shop packed with goodies. Friendly people and inspiring collection of curated fabrics and sewing related items. Lots of quilting stuff too. Cute cafe next door- make a day of it.

I came here to find a very specific colour/size of button for a cosplay and they had multiple options that would have worked!! The ones I went with were GORGEOUS and even had matching smaller ones that I could use for the sleeves.

The staff were so kind and helpful, I had a wonderful time here and will absolutely come again!! The gold buttons in the picture are the ones I got <3

Really lovely place with amazing service. I was referred there by a tailor to get some supplies to fix a zipper. The staff not only recommended the right zipper part but also deconstructed the broken zipper and installed the new clasp. They tried to charge me $1.99; I insisted paying for their time, and my bill was therefore $5, plus I got a free charm. Super friendly and knowledgeable, and clearly like their job.

Adorable local fabric shop with the cutest flannelette, cotton, and fleece prints! All at reasonable prices, too. It's a small shop but they make the most of the space they have, and they sometimes have truly amazing sales going on! The owner is super, super friendly and helpful, too. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

This shop was such a wonderful surprise. It is like walking into a quilting wonderland. There's a great range of fabrics, very well organised, beautifully displayed, and the owner and staff are so friendly and knowledgeable. I've been twice already and can't wait to go back.
