5/5

BoreA Canada deserves more than 5 stars. Consider how they started: take the spruce needles and branches discarded by the logging industry, extract essential oils, place the branches into a co-generation incinerator which produces electricity and the steam required to run the operation. They have expanded to other trees and plants from the boreal forest to produce a unique range of organic oils in an ecological manner. I don’t have any personal experience with the benefits of essential oils. I can state that the fragrances are appealing to me. I also respect that BoreA provides a detailed breakdown of their molecular analysis and links to third party research about potential health and wellness benefits. I also applaud the company ethos about forest stewardship. The have expanded their circular operation by returning ashes from the incineration at the cogeneration plant to fertilize harvest areas. It is an elegant way of maximizing the benefit of trees already being cut for lumber. Significantly, this operation takes place in Chapais, a remote community in northern Quebec with a population of 1500. Full disclosure: I went to high-school with the CEO and founder of BoreA. Readers familiar with my reviews will know that I don’t use a pseudonym and I substantiate my ratings with honest, first-hand observations. Have a look; I'm sure you will agree.
