Le paquet était bien emballé, il y avait une note écrite à la main, l’impression de patron que j’ai commandé était bien identifié et il y avait même des détails sur comment laver le tissus adéquatement.

About a year ago I purchased a guipure lace deadstock from Blackbird Fabrics with the ambitious goal of making my own wedding dress. Like all of the fabrics I have purchased from Blackbird over the years, the quality and design of the fabric where beautiful. I was especially grateful that they made matching recommendations from their stock for the dress lining and thread. The service Blackbird offers, even as an online retailer, has the attention and thoroughness of being aided in-store by a professional, a confidence that can be so hard to find in online retailers. I've started ordering from Blackbird more than I go to the fabric store down the street! I'm willing to wait and pay a little extra for shipping because I just love the fabric that much. I really like that the website has suggestions and is clear on how the fabric drapes, possible uses, and thread matches. It's my go-to these days for all of my COVID sewing!

I have ordered from Blackbird Fabrics for years and love their selection. But my most recent order appears to have been lost in the mail. It never arrived and the tracking stopped updating. When I reached out to Blackbird, they told me they would look into it, but never followed up. I’ve reached out several times and asked for a refund or replacement. They now tell me they won’t do either until they receive compensation from their shipper. Terrible customer service. I will never order from here again.

I love shopping here! The shipping to the US is a little pricey, but at the time of my purchase, there was a deal for free US shipping if you spend $150. There’s also a first purchase coupon if you sign up for emails! The site is very easy to navigate and there is a lot of info about the fabrics. The shop has tons of notions as well and they print PDF patterns inexpensively! The best part: each fabric I viewed had a recommendation for a matching thread color, which is incredibly helpful for online shopping.

I am consistently impressed with what I've learned just by visiting their site. They provide pattern suggestions for each fabric (independent pattern designers FTW), fabric weight, stretch factor (if applicable). Ask for swatches if you're uncertain about a purchase; they're very accommodating. This is hands down my fav way to spend my paycheque -- haha! <3 BBF
