I've been to Beyond Usual multiple times, and every visit has been great. I tend to have high anxiety when shopping, especially when I have my children with me, but the staff here make it enjoyable. They're super helpful, patient (they make you feel like you're the only customer in the store) and the quality of the products is excellent. If you want a stress-free shopping trip, this is the place.

Now here is a neat little shop, Kind of a skateboard shop but more, Beyond The Usual, literally. If you are looking for something different this is the place. From pendulums, to skateboard wheels to baby Toms and big Toms, books and some really great clothing brands. Definitely worth a stop! Fabulous prices!

Love what Chris and Judy are doing here. Great selection of all the right stuff. Good prices. Love the newly expanded space and addition of more skateboards and scooters. I think this store is right on point. Lots of hard work and perseverance to get it to this point I would imagine. The are well set up for a successful future in Chemainus and maybe “ beyond”. Next store name. Beyond the usual beyond Chemainus. Emma was kind professional and knowledgeable. My son has been so inspired by this store he has wanted to work there for the past couple years and be a part of what they are doing. The people who work here seem to have a vision to serve the customer and not just ring up sales. I will post picture a soon.
10 tree. Herschel. Volcom. DC. Havoc. Santa Cruz and on and on. Great selection of hats. I need to get one. Also sick end of season sale of flip flops. Highly recommend checking it out. Worth the trip to Chemainus.

Great locally owned shop! Friendly, helpful staff.

Amazing service! Such a cute little shop as well. I needed some shoes for my toddler, as he/we lost one of his shoes. There is never enough time in the day to make it in there, even though we only live 15 minutes away. I placed an order on their website, and called later in the morning to see if they could mail it same day. They did and I got the shoes the next morning! So very happy 🙂

Such a fantastic little place! Wonderful family owned business and they are true gems! I have visited the store on multiple occasions and have also ordered from them online, as I live in Calgary they always do anything they can to get you what you want and need and are super friendly!

Awesome shop with a unique blend of high quality products. I have had the pleasure of talking with one of the owners (Chris) and you couldn’t find a better more helpful and community oriented person. I don’t make it to Chemainus often but it looks like they have a lot of options in their online store so I’ll definitely be ordering some Summer specific clothing items in the near future.

Great store run by kind, helpful people. Picked up more than just clothes here, lots of things from bags to candles! Nice selection of decks to choose from and within walking distance from the great skatepark in Chemainus. Must check out in store and online!
