My review is for Askews Bakery.

Both my boyfriend and I have Birthdays in May, at the start of the month we ordered the Odessa cake for his which was super delicious and he thoroughly enjoyed it!

My birthday was just this past weekend and I ordered the Cream Cheese cake. The cake was amazing, decorated beautifully and tasted so good! Both cakes were fantastic. Totally worth the money if you want something a little nicer than any other grocery store bakery cake. Quality and price is far superior than other places.

The Chicken and Mojo's from the Deli i bought today were barely crispy, and entirely flavourless. it was a terrible waste of money. Buyer Beware.

It's unfortunate that I can only give 2 stars because I like supporting local, but the items are waaaay overpriced....especially for the main grocery store in town where many people have no choice but to shop. That, and the staff are seemingly untrained and unknowledgeable about promotions that the store is offering AT THE TILL. The meat is top quality, that's about it.

Are you kidding I’d rather use the gas to go to Vernon than pay their ridiculous prices. Why do you shop there

This bakery used to make the best half and half bread. The bread they make now is full of large holes and really crumbly. We go elsewhere now. Prices have also gone through the roof

I've been shopping at Armstrong Askews for 40 yrs and we bought almost all our breads there. But since Askews took over the bakery, both the selection and quality of the baked goods has suffered. The breads have become just standard, nothing special - what you'd get at a corporate chain, compared to the interesting Euro type breads that were previously offered. I used to treat myself to the cinnamon nut loaf. I bought one recently and found those 2 essential ingredients were significantly shorted on to the point that I won't be making that purchase again. Reducing quality to make a buck it would seem? Yes they have kept some of the more popular items but the variety and quality is reduced. Sadly it's a loss to the community.
