Ordered a graphics card from here the other day it arrived packed well in a timely manner. I definitely recommend them as their online store was easy to navigate and it was nice to find a component I've been looking for that's been sold out at all the big corpos ☺️

Laptop fan was sounding horrible and performing horribly as well, overheating playing games that it should have been more than capable of handling. So I spent ~$140 for Airdrie Computer to "fix" it. Spent over a month waiting for them to get the part in. I kinda expected them to do a professional job, replace both fans and clean them, maybe troubleshoot the computer, for that kind of money. Instead I found the computer overheating and the same exact problem crept up into the machine within the following week, and opening up the laptop myself, saw that only 1 fan got changed out, and it was all quite dirty. Some screws were missing too, not that I'm sure if that was them or not. Ultimately that was a lot of time & money to spend on a change of 1 fan, nothing more or less, which did not solve anything.

I took my old computer to Airdrie computer and brought them a new one. They migrated all of my information and set up the new computer. They are excellent and I will tell anyone who has to deal with a computer that is not working or you need help moving your information to a new computer, Shayne and Alex are your men!! They were excellent and professional, and if I could give more than five stars I would!

Let me start off by saying they are amazing! Ok now to the details, I went in just for some upgrades and found out my pc was pretty out dated. They let me know my options keeping in mind my budget, my initial reason for coming and making sure I leave satisfied and satisfied I ended up. We needed up on a higher budget build because I didn’t plan on upgrading it for awhile. After that the building began. A week or so later they let me know if was almost done and just waiting for one more part. However I had been missing a cable for my power supply so they ordered me a new one which is why it took longer than normal(I think they said usually a week for the builds). After everything so built and good to go they showed me how it ran some details about the pc and how to keep it in good condition and with that I have my now beautiful and amazing pc!!

Do Not Use for anything complicated. They don't know how to do more than basic laptop fixes. If you are a business and have managed services, they are not the IT people you need. Their services is awful and their fees are outrageous.

My accounting firm had a good IT guy for over 10 years. This guy moved away and was trying to do the work remotely, which didn't actually work well for us. I approached Airdrie Computer to get a quote on their services. I told them very clearly that this was confidential. That night, I received a text from Patrick with Airdrie Computer telling me that they'd already notified my past IT provider that I was moving to them. I hadn't even had a discussion with Airdrie computer yet and they outed me to my old IT guy. The old IT guy was understandably angry that I didn't personally tell him I was switching and he quit with almost no notice. I had no choice but to get Airdrie Computer on the case asap. Sneaky way for Airdrie Computer to get my business without actually discussing any services or prices with me. Also, what a breach of confidentiality! IT professionals should be respecting confidentiality as much as we do in the accounting world.

Over the next couple of months we received massive invoicing from Airdrie Computer ($22,000 in 3 months) and received the worst service possible. They clearly don't know how to manage a server environment and several times they made mistakes that shut down our entire server during the work day, causing multiple hours where I was paying my staff to sit and do nothing because our IT was out. To put the billing into context, our prior IT guy and our new IT guy charge about $3,000 per month for this service and do a much, much better job.

I contacted Patrick about the outrageous invoicing and he said something like 'Yeah, I figured you'd call at some point as we're just charging you full freight on everything. We can offer you a package price. However, we hired a business coach who told us our prices are low so we may actually be increasing the prices'. Their policy is that if someone calls in for a 2 minute problem, they charge a full hour ($120). This is worse than lawyers. Then when they deal with the problem (usually several days later), it's another full hour. And they don't try to do multiple things in that hour - each issue is an hour no matter what.

Then they charged a flat fee of $2,000/month to 'update our servers'. Other IT guys said that this only takes a few hours at most. Patrick was adamant that this is a normal fee even though no other IT providers I spoke to charge this. Also, one of the servers that they charged to update was basically a dummy server and didn't need updating.

One other thing - I think that Patrick is using some AI to answer emails. It's weird because I'd get a few emails from him that had a normal tone to them. Then when I'd question what was happening in an unhappy way, I'd get this perfect email that sounded nothing like Patrick at all. Totally seems like ChatGPT. This was creepy and felt inauthentic.

Anyways, do not use Airdrie Computer for any higher level computing needs. They really don't know what they're doing but they charge as though they're experts.

Update 2024-07-26: Thank you Shayne for taking my call and a great conversation on what you can do to help get my computer back up and running. I really appreciate it!! This conversation was what I was looking for professional and helpful. I look forward to using Airdrie computer whenever I can.

I feel compelled to post a review as over the years I have been pleased then let down on the customer service side of things. A few years ago I needed a screen replaced on my laptop and the work was done with a reasonable timeline and price. Due to that experience I decided to purchase one of their computers on display and spent a couple thousand dollars. Once again happy but they neglected to include/mention that a lot of parts were not included such as PSU cables, fasteners, etc. as they were in the original boxes. When I wanted to install an new hard drive the motherboard screws were missing on the expansion slot. When I inquired at the store they informed me that it was either dropped or left in the box and they don't keep them just throw them out so I had to source it from DBCS computers. Was thinking it would be a standard part but unfortunately not. I am now looking again to upgrade the GPU but they did not include any of the power supply cables in the case. Sounds like they just throw them out. It would have been nice to know this at the time of purchase? I guess I made a bad assumption that I would get all the parts and pieces supplied with a component that are useful. Had I known I could have made a better decision. I do like to tinker and during the purchase had expressed a desire to upgrade as I didn't buy the bleeding edge of CPU/GPU etc. thinking I had purchased something that would be easily upgraded. Now it seems that oversight is leading to the purchase of unnecessary parts. Since I made the large purchase it just seems that there is no support or assistance just a ho hum can't help...
