Helpful until they get their fee…I used this law firm for the purchase of my home in October 2022. The Partner I dealt with was fabulous and wonderful to deal with. BUT it took 2 years to get my final documents (land title cert and statement of adjustments and the other paperwork) and the small amount of money held in trust. It should have taken 6 months at max. The Partner I dealt with left the Firm this Spring and one of the named Partners, Cam Prowse, took no ownership for them not getting me my paperwork for 1.5 years and the fact that I had to chase someone down there (seems like everyone is leaving) over a period of 3 weeks. Nobody would call me back and I had to call numerous times. Cam kept passing the fault to the Partner that had left and said that I should follow up directly with him at his new organization to find out why he didn’t do what he’s supposed to do. Sorry, Cam. Your name is on the company and you are still a Partner and you should be taking ownership of what happened and not passing the buck. You need a serious refresher on what client care is.

They are lucky to have their Receptionist, Amanda who, along with Erin, were the only helpful ones in my dealings with them.

Stay away. There’s lots of other law firms out there that know how to treat their clients.

Under Prowse Chowne LLP c/o Amy C Bassili, the legal service I received was disgusting. It took over 3 months, 3 lawyers, and almost $8000 just to create a draft Statement of Claim from emails I sent that contained 80% of the text (Facts Relied On and Remedy Sought) mostly taken from my very detailed Timeline of Key Events, all while the Defendant stole assets and liquidated the property. Slow, disorganized and amateur are how I would describe this firm and billing me another $400 to cancel and send a refund cheque says a lot.
