I decided to update my 4 knife FELDER cutter block for a Spiral cutter with Carbide inserts. I had previously approached FELDER for their Silent power version however they were not “compatible” on an old machine. Sheartak make a replacement to suit the FELDER 700 series machines which I purchased.
It arrived in the Uk about 10 days after order and was well packaged. Although it was a difficult and time consuming process to strip down the FELDER - including removing both in feed and out feed tables to change the cutter block and bearings the Sheartak block tolerances were spot on and the bearings fitted correctly. Once the tables tolerances and alignment were set I tested the block on some previous planed walnut with tear out from the FELDER block. The results were really impressive- extremely smooth surface finish with no tear out and the noise level when planing is noticeably lower. A great investment!

What a pleasure to deal with Mike and Lucy. Bought a spiral cutter head for my Hammer A3-41 with bearings and spare inserts. Brilliantly packaged for it’s journey to the southern tip of Africa it arrived as promised, fitted into the machine with factory tolerances and the results are brilliant! Couldn’t be happier! I bought a cutter head from Sheartak and
WOW is the first word that comes to mind , It was a total game changer for my shop.
It was easy to install and man are the blades sharp, It has cut through all the different kinds of wood I’ve thrown at it like butter .
I’m telling you guys and gals I was so happy with the cutter head that within a week I ordered another for my planer.
The folks over at Sheartak are the best.
They make sure you get your package as fast as possible and when you do get it, you see that it’s in a box with plywood backing and packed safe so there’s no damage at all.

My new sheartak helical cutter head is absolutely amazing. The delivery was very quick & the part was packaged extremely well to avoid any possible damages during shipping. They send a USB with instructions on how to install your new helical head in your specific jointer and it was very easy to follow and do. The difference from knives to the new helical head is just incredible, so much quitter, smaller wood chips and just a super clean cut. No more having to align the knives which we all know sucks. So I highly recommend buying one from these guys you will not be disappointed.
