Today I went to work like any other day , doing my work as usual. Around 10-30 am my supervisor Dave Crowley told me to look for some special material needed for a customer. We looked around for a bit and after we figured out was not available. So after reading the invoice we both agreed that wasn’t available. We looked around and we saw a bigger size in width that need to be trimmed or cut off to suit the mi customer request. I personally check all the material can fit on my reminder machine and this product was way to wide to fit in so I informed my supervisor that this particular size wouldn’t fit on my machine since last time I tried I couldn’t cut it trimmed anything and I wouldn’t be able to secure to roll to
Avoiding any issue or problems.
At that point me and my supervisor looked more around to see if we could find the right size material but no luck. So me and Dave Crowley ( the supervisor) walked back to my station and that is when he told me to trim 10” off this 103” wide material to accomodate on my machine using an electric sawzall( electric saw used most in construction and maintenance dept). I immediately told him that I was going to refuse because his request was unsafe and I felt I had the rights to refuse to perform to safeguard myself and the company as well. Immediately my supervisor answer was: “ Well if you don’t want to do it I send you home “ so at that point I asked why and he replied saying : “ I have nothing to do for you” I refused twice and he heard me very loud and clear. I make a note that is not the first time that my supervisor Dave Crowley threaten me to send me home, first time happened in the summer when I was working between shifts to help my big boss ( my chief executive Scott O’Hearn) . He told me that he would be moving me in afternoon and I told him it wouldn’t happen since I have a contract signed with the company saying my shift to a 7:30-4 pm and my job description is Slitter operator( running cutting machines for fabric,Teflon,plasma, etc) he told me on the spot that if i didn’t like his way I could just go home.

Anyway in the end he sent me home on April 11th, 2022 around 11 am and on top he told me to come In tomorrow but not sure if he will have work for me. I know basic law but as full timer I shouldn’t have 35 hours of work guaranteed? Also the company make me so different stuff from my job duties.. as Slitter operator I should run machines but since last summer they have been using me to cover different jobs( I get underpaid) and most of the time they use me as material handler since our shipping dept are too lazy.I wish just to do the job I got hired for no more no less but here is impossible.
To complete my claim I declare that what I wrote in here is the honest true and I just hope my civil and human rights are taking care of it as I am a very responsible and mature individual.
