I loved this new grocery store! Very organized and clean. The staff was super super kind and some asked me if I need help and the cashier gave some stickers for my kids😊 There is a place with tables and chairs for you to eat at, they sell soups and other delicious stuffs. It’s easy to park in front or on the side of the building.

The choices meat department in Parksville has to be now the saddest meat department on the whole of Vancouver island.
I was a regular there since it opened I have seen at least 4 meat department employees come and go.What a high turnover this store has.
The meat manager Kayla was the only stable foundation of that department had and she is gone now as well.😪
Kayla the manager would go out of her way to help us and make our shopping experience as cost-effective and as pleasant as possible.
We noticed that Kayla the meat manager had absolutely no support from her head office as quite often the norm sale items were not in the store and we noticed this meat department go through a even further decline after the new store manager Mr MacAdams took over who came off as a rude, arrogant, curt, self important little lord farqude when my wife inquired to what had happend to the nice helpful meat manager kayla.
We latter found out that she also no longer works there. What shame we will no longer support a store that can not keep staff longer than a year.
It means that upper management has a problem keeping good workers.
Hmmm.

Hello,
I am a regular customer of choice market.I usually goes to choice market on most of the days during my lunch time to have rotisserie style chicken.Yesterday 8th Feb 2025 at 2.20pm,I went there.Usually I eat pepper and herb BBQ chicken,but yesterday I saw another variety called Southwest BBQ.I took a half chicken ,It was 6.99$.I paid for it and I went to the dining area and started to have it.It tastes wierd as there was no salt in the chicken.I took that and went to the kitchen area and told to one of their employee about it.
she was helpful and she told me that she will take it back and I can grab another chicken from there.I took my favourite pepper and herb and started eating…….Suddenly a guy named DARREN came to me and he was very rude ad shouted

DARREN: Hey why you didnt pay and took the chicken.I saw u roaming here and there and taking the chicken without paying

Me:(I stood up from the table where I was eating)Brother,I paid for it and it was not salty so that I took it to your kitchen and they told me to replace it with a new one

(The customers who were in the billing section were looking at me and I felt
offended)

DARREN:From which section u billed it ?…

Me:I billed it from that lady(I showed him the till I billed by pointing the finger) and if u want you can just confirm it.

He went from there.After sometime he came back to the dining area with a pop can and sit 2 tables ahead of me by facing me and simply looking at me.See what is the point of playing all these drama,I am regular customer of choice market and I usually Pays for the stuff from anywhere I take,That’s what my parents taught me.I am a brown skin coloured guy.Sometimes that triggered him,I can’t beleive someone can behave like this to a customer.whether you are a brown skin, dark skin or white skin,the money we are paying have only the same value and I believe that white skin color has nothing to do until you a dark heart.First time in canada I felt Racism and felt offended.

See if he made a mistake or he had a mis understanding,he should say sorry to the person,Instead of
again triggering that person is something rediculous!

There is one lady called Kelly in the choice market.You cant imagine how sweet she is and most of the employees smile when they see me as they know I am a regular customer.

I never had this type of experience from any kind of stores in entire canada.Canada is a country made by immigrants.I dont support all the shitty stuffs from immigrants doing,but atleast me …I always respect and help people,inspite of the fact whether they are white or dark,poor or rich,good or bad

I hope DARREN will understand things and change.If not its ok,all the people are not same.I didnt give 1 star for choice market ,But for DARREN.If there was a negetive star ,I would have given that,

They deserve all the stars. Choices Parksville charges one-third LESS than the big supermarket chains for some of my favourite foods. Amazing variety - absolutely anything you need or want is here, especially health and wellness products. I especially appreciate the incredible helpful advice on herbal medicines from the experts in the wellness department. Top-notch, I go out of my way to shop here.

I really enjoy shopping at the Choices Market here in Parksville. Their groceries and pharmacy selection is amazing. The deli section is fabulous, they have such a wide array of deli meats, rotisserie chicken, hot chilli, you name it, they have it. Chris the manager is very customer friendly and very keen to stop and say hello to myself and all of his customer's. Chris is a great manager and team leader, his staff are always smiling and so very helpful. The cashier's are amazing, their names are Ayana, Nancy and Tanisha. Their service was fabulous and they are a valuable asset for Choices Market.
I would highly recommend Choices Market for your grocery, pharmacy and every day needs. Choices prices are extremely reasonable. If you want the best, shop at Choices Market, they are second to none.

Best sandwich and fruit platters I have ever had,bar none. I have been getting more and more disillusioned with Thrifty's, so I thought I would try Choices. Is best choice I ever made.
Sandwiches were tasty generous and fresh. The cut fruit was cut to proper bite sized pieces instead of enormous hunks. And the fruit was super fresh.

Was very thankful they celebrated the anniversary with $10 gift cards! And some great deals.... As a senior on fixed income - any help is appreciated. The added gift cards allowed me to purchase some more pricey items like olive oil and butter 😉
