We got the Lighting Passport Standard Pro spectrometer for Affiniti Studios and it didn't disappoint. We've used their spectrometer before, but this new one added a couple extra new features. The product delivered on time and was easy to setup. We've taken this product out into the field many times and it consistently provides us with the necessary data to help us service our clients. We're very happy with the product!

Severe Disappointment with Allied Scientific Pro's Lightning Pro - A Cautionary Tale

I am writing this review with deep frustration and disappointment in Allied Scientific Pro. My experience with their Lightning Pro product has been nothing short of a disaster. After investing in this high-cost equipment, I was appalled when the accompanying app abruptly ceased to function and was inexplicably removed from my phone. This malfunction resulted in the loss of years' worth of critical measurements of medical lights, data that was not only invaluable but also gathered at a significant expense from locations around the globe.

My attempts to seek resolution from their customer support were initially met with deafening silence. When I finally received a response via their chat service, the reply was both shocking and unacceptable: "Sorry, we can't do anything, the company has closed down." This dismissive and unhelpful response left me stranded with a dysfunctional product and years of lost data, with no recourse.

The sheer negligence and lack of accountability displayed by Allied Scientific Pro are alarming. Not only did their product fail spectacularly, but their customer service also proved to be equally disappointing. This experience has firmly decided my future dealings with this company: I will never purchase from Allied Scientific Pro again.

I urge potential customers to exercise caution. The lack of support and the abrupt discontinuation of services with no prior warning or viable solutions is a serious concern. It's imperative for consumers to be aware of these risks when considering a purchase from Allied Scientific Pro.

We made a purchase of a portable spectrometer from Allied Scientific Pro a couple of years ago, and our experience can be divided into three phases:

In the first year, we were quite satisfied with the product and the accompanying app. It worked great, and we had no complaints.

However, in the second year, we encountered an issue with the cloud system. It suddenly stopped working, and as a result, we lost all our saved measurements. We found ourselves limited to using the regular app, which unfortunately meant we could no longer access TM-30 measurements. It was frustrating to say the least. It took several weeks of effort, multiple calls, and emails to finally get a response from the company. They informed us that the cloud system had been discontinued, and we were advised to revert to the older app.

As we entered the third year, we noticed that no updates were being sent to us as customers. Then, unexpectedly, the app disappeared from the app store. We immediately reached out to Allied Scientific Pro, but our frustration grew as it took them three weeks to respond to our initial email and phone call. While someone always picked up the phone, we never received any callbacks or emails addressing our concerns.

Overall, this entire experience has been incredibly frustrating. The lack of communication, discontinued services, and disappearing app have left us feeling dissatisfied with our purchase. We feel compelled to discourage others from buying a spectrometer from this company based on our own unfortunate experience.

We have been using the Lighting Passport for 2-3 years now for R&D on our LED grow lights. The Lighting Passport has without a doubt been the most valuable tool we have ever purchased for the advancement of our LED grow light models. The Lighting Passport coupled with the Agricultural Genius App gives us the full story on spectrum, intensity, CRI and every parameter we are looking at to make sure our lights are up to world class levels. The Lighting Passport has been our key to success and I’d recommend it to anyone who can benefit from taking light measurement to the next level.

Overall solid product. I bought a Lighting Passport Spectrometer kit with the embedded iPod Touch. Overall, I've been fairly pleased with the product. Sometimes the iPod Touch is a bit balky, and the system for transferring files to other machines is a bit cumbersome, but the data I'm getting is very extensive, and for the price, it's been a great tool. Customer service has been very responsive and quick.
