Si vous êtes dans la région de Cavendish, ça vaut la peine de faire le bout de chemin pour y faire l'épicerie. Beaucoup plus de choix et moins dispendieux

Whomever runs this store is a terrible manager.
Today I bought an in-store cooked chicken that was an expired chicken from the reefer cases and someone gave the instructions to soak the chickens in salt water to make sure to kill any bacteria and then they roasted them. The meat was so heavily salted the BBQ seasoning on the skin was less salty.
So not only are they feeding people expired meat, but also disgustingly prepared expired meat.
This is not the first or second time this store has cut corners or done terrible things to the food in order to sell something that shouldn't be sold. The one before this was only half-cooked.
They've permanently lost my business and that of my family.
Disgusting and shameful to be in the food industry and serve people food like this.
I'm calling the health inspector tomorrow.

I purchased an Apple Gift card from this location recently and when I tried to redeem it an air message said it was already redeemed. This happened once before at this location some time ago. Will never buy another gift card at this location.

Mikes Independent Store is a great shopping experience. Staff is friendly and helpful. Produce is fresh. Ready made meals are delicious. Prices are comparable. Store is clean. Mike is there almost everyday; he works hard to please the customers. Better than the box stores; more personal. We all need to support our local store. Shop at Mikes.

I am from out of the province and. Country at same time as I may live in Ontario but I still use a US passport etc. I went here on day 2 of my vacation bought a great priced and great tasting cheese tray and some kindling but when grabbing kindling I must have set my change purse wallet card size in cart. Well next day couldn’t find it and then I came back here police and post office and then 2 posts online which were shared over 500 times (wonderful islanders) and one person said look in grass and I had given up and was gonna head home early on way to Charlottetown to airport I told my son turn around let me check grass and a commenter on a post said talk to Mike so I went in 1st and lady behind counter got a guy who said they had something and the photo on front confirmed it was mine he said. That was Mike. I gave him a hug. I was so thankful. He wouldn’t accept any money. I tried twice.
The cheese tray I took a photo to send to son in vehicle to see which he would want.
So Mike the owner is a wonderful human I would frequent this place every time I come there in support of him. He had class.

A good small town grocery store with a family owned feel. Store can provide most of your needs with fresh produce, meat, dairy and dry goods. However if you are cooking for a vegetarian in your household you may need to go down the road to Summerside for a larger selection.
