This service is so vital to the community. The volunteers are so kind and make you feel welcome. It really bothers me to see people being rude while receiving free help from good people. My family is very thankful for this place! They do what they can with what they have.

Very disappointed, I asked for extra help because I only have enough money for rent. When I called I explained my situation I was very rudely spoken to and was told " your situation is not our problem! you can only come once a month". I understand however I am going hungry. Then I was still on the line, hung up on!!! I heard the worker saying "she hung up " and then hung up !!!Rules are rules but only applies to me !!!! However my neighbors go to the food bank weekly !!!

I work behind the scenes getting food ready for clients. Sometimes, I work with them by serving them at the counter as well. Particularly like that!
There is a great bunch of volunteers who are not stingy with packing/stuffing the bags or boxes for the people who come in and need them. Loyal staff who cleans the facility and drives out to pick up food from grocery chains to deliver back to us. Lots of fun with everyone!

The lady at the door is rude ..if you don't want to be there go inside and do your thing ..plus most things are out dated ..they need to start facing their shelves so there is less expired food ..and people donating need not give expired food just to get rid of it ..

Great help, very kind people, minus one or two I came in contact with raised their voice a little too much if i crossed the line (the line we have to stand behind while others get their food) trying to prepare my mind as to what I want off the main shelf so others can get through faster when I go to get my food, other then that they have always been very helpful and kind. I've had to use it many times over the years as I'm on low income/disability. When I'm able to I always give back by donating food I don't think I'll use in the "Food bank bins" at Sobeys or wherever I find one.

TIP: If you have extreme anxiety like I do, Try to go in around 11am because most people have gotten their stuff by then. If I go around 11:10-11:15ish I find maybe 1-3 people there, the last few times I went there was absolutely no one except the volunteers which was great for me. Usually around 11:20am they are starting to close up so I suggest before then to go in. It was 5 mins until 11:30 (closing time) one day I went in and the lady i called and spoke too wouldn't let me in which put me in a terrible spot as I only use the food bank when I really need to. Luckily if you're on income assistance or low income, salvation army helps sometimes, along with the community cupboard on Munroe ave on Wednesdays 🙂

Very grateful for all of the volunteers and kindness shown. Thank you so much. Words can't begin to explain how grateful I am that we have that support in place as most of us on assistance cannot eat healthy even with our income assistance each month and food bank combined because healthy food tends to cost more. I've met a lot of us in this area that struggle throughout the month only eating canned foods, selling their stuff just to make it through the month. It's been a struggle for a lot of people but the food bank is most definitely a very welcoming and helpful source <3 :) THANK YOU SOO MUCH
