Good company, what a work of art this oil refinery is. Absolutely stunning to just see it from outside

Puts health of communities nearby at risk, particularly vulnerable populations such as the disabled and elderly, by releasing dangerous amounts of pollutants in the air that exceed WHO guidelines. The incident last weekend and the current multi-day release of contaminants are unacceptable.

A 2022 report said that the refinery could release contaminants of concern into the community: sulphur dioxide, benzene and butadiene. Benzene and butadiene are carcinogenic.

I am concerned as well for the workers as last weekend the refinery delayed reporting by 12 hours the ‘release of hazardous materials’ that injured the workers, while they are mandated to report immediately. I hope there is a full investigation that provides compensation and justice to the workers.

I hope our communities speak up for our collective health. We deserve to know what exactly was released into the air last weekend and in these current operations. We deserve cleaner air for our communities and future generations.

Our local regulators must to better to protect the safety of our neighborhoods from this corporation.

Absolutely unacceptable release of toxic fumes into the neighborhood. I live quite far away and still woke up to a pounding headache and had to leave my house and drive to South Van. Thank god I drive an EV with bioweapon defense mode. I will never be giving Chevron a dime in the future.

The city of Vancouver even had 15 fire engines roaming the city wasting resources.

I hope you guys get fined accordingly and that a class action lawsuit takes place.

Alarms are always going off from this refinery.Not very nice living near this facility.We hear fire trucks all the time.Why is this happening on a regular basis?
