Pretty brutal service, guys who run the front counter always act like they dont want to be there. They have no idea how to answer a phone. The prices here are absolutely outrageous, enough so that its caught the attention of Stihl Canada. Everything is consistently 50% more than anywhere else. Shop is always a disorganized mess with little stock to show. They rarely keep parts in stock, so you are forced to deal with the terrible customer service more.
But their repair guy is pretty good.

I went to these guys to order a new MS 362 in person placed order. Called them 3 times over 3 weeks. So after 4 weeks. I went to competitor KEMLEE EQUIPMENT. Saw showed up in 2 days. Never did get a call saying my saw was in. Not the first bad experience with them. KEMLEE FOR ALL YOUR stihl needs.

Bought a couple chisel tooth chains for my little saw from these guys.
Polite, knowledgeable and friendly. Most importantly treated me with respect and not lesser than because I am a woman.

Terrible customer service… ordered a chainsaw handle 2 months ago have called 4 times to see if it come in, first time wasn’t ordered second time wasn’t in yet 3rd call I was told it was on back order … today I called to check and they ordered the wrong one and would call me back… still haven’t heard a word.. if it’s not in stock on the shelf good luck getting it brought in. You try and support local but get ignored and don’t get product. Would no recommend I will order handle online.

Lately, I've bought a bunch of equipment. One item has been giving me some grief. The crew at KTS has been really helpful and accommodating in getting the issue sorted out and back to me quick. I haven't had that kind of service from a shop in town before and I really appreciate it!

I got charged $110 for a 20" Oregon bar because they were out of Stihl bars. The same bar sells at Canadian tire for $59 and it comes with a $40 dollar chain!!
My wife picked it up for me and I was shocked and angry. I'm done with them. Their service sucks the front end guys aren't exactly welcoming or even friendly. I make the drive to Golden Installations now. I just bought a Stihl 500i and accessories $2300 they won't be seeing in Cranbrook

Very impressed with their service. I purchased a Husqvarna lawn mower else where and immediately had issues with it leaving strips of grass behind. The deal I purchased from wanted to rivet or weld a piece of tin on the inside of my mower deck to rectify the problem, I was not happy with this and they claimed they knew no other solution and their highers would not offer another solution. I contacted Husqvarna directly and they agreed to completely replace my mower deck at a dealer of my choosing. I called and explained the situation to Kootenay Truck and Saw, immediately they had zero issues or concerns about helping me. The mower was barely with them a week and is better than new. I really appreciate them helping out someone who did not eve purchase a product from them. I have learned my lesson and will continue to use them in the future.

Great place to for all you equipment needs, i have bought a saw here in the past and it worked great, any questions were answered and just recently purchasing a Big Green Egg BBQ. Cam took the time to explain everything on the BBQ and made sure we got a great deal. Thanks guys
