This review is for one of the products Country Grocer carries. I bought some Chapman's Markdale Creamery Ice Cream, best ice cream I have had in a long time. Says it's made with real cream and it must be, it did not freeze solid like the ones made with frozen milk, it stayed creamy and had a wonderful light but distinctive vanilla flavour. Scrumptious! Delicious with stewed rhubarb and strawberries, got the strawberries here too and they were also excellent.

Horrible store since it was taken over by country grocer, never and staff working the tills with massive lines. Over priced. Always out of stock on things that sell, maybe up your stock? Can’t be bothered to come to this store and I live around the corner

Country grocer has improved their game. Variety of products is at least equal to what 49th Parallel used to offer including many local Vancouver Island producers. The focus on BC products is appreciated. Quality of baked goods has improved as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Prices have improved with sales matching or besting larger retailers. Well done Country Grocer!

Place is just awful since it became Country Grocer. It was already ridiculously expensive before, but now the selection is worse, and the prices are even higher. Not many of the customers look happy shopping here. There are not a lot of options in Chemainus for groceries, so the people of town really don't have a choice without having to travel out of town. There is inflation, and then there is what's happening at this store. Utterly gross when I am in the isles of store and I see seniors and families with children look at the price of things and place them back on the shelf. One good thing I can say is that the staff are very friendly and helpful, absolutely no complaints with that aspect at all. Wish the prices were a representation that the store/brand of Country Grocer had respect for it's clients, but why would they need to if a lot of their client base have little to no options.
