I am torn as to how to rate this business, so I will give it 2.5 stars & bump it to 3 for now. I have had really tasty smoked pork chops and a sausage I really enjoyed. I have also thrown out ham sausage and haven't liked the ground beef package I just used. The ham sausage was not a taste I liked and was just my preference. However, the ham sausage had way too much fat in it. I was told a long time ago to purchase ham sausage over other sausage if I don't like a lot of fat & want a more firm chewy texture. I was told that ham sausage will have more solid meat and should have more of a solid texture over other sausages that may have more fat and other things in it and could make the texture more soft and less palatable to some. So I mostly stick with ham sausage for this reason. So I was quite disappointed with theirs. As this was a personal preference, I just won't buy it again, no big deal. So the last time I went I purchased a small package of ground beef with plans to use it that day. Unfortunately I was only able to use it yesterday and was not impressed at all with the quality of it! It will go to the dogs!! There was an awful lot of white tiny rubber like pieces in it. I chew my food thoroughly and in one mouthful, I pulled out 3 pieces of a white rubbery substance. It was not fat because I had to boil the ground beef as I was sharing it with a sick dog. I skimmed fat off the top of the water before eating and serving some to the dog. Upon closer inspection of the remaining boiled ground beef, I pulled out many more tiny rubbery pieces. There were so many I gave up and this will sadly all go to the dog. I don't know if I got an unusually poor package of ground beef or if this is the norm for this butcher. So disappointed because I like trying to support small business over big chains.

Recently picked up beef that was butchered here. The most horrible cuts for steaks ever. Only got 3 lbs of stewing meat. I understand that they are busy but these cuts were horrible. Maybe 1/4 inch thick on 1 side and paper thin on the other. Never again.

Got some bison pepperoni, dill smokies, maple bacon smokies, beef jerky, bacon and some nice tender rib eye/sirloin steaks from here and we love it!

I bought sausage here that was 100% perfect. But today I have called to get pricing and place an order, maybe their phones aren't working, I don't know, I just get hung up on every time I call. Pretty frustrating.

Edit: thanks for the quick reply! I don't know what's up with your phone, all I know is it sounded like it was answered, but then after about 17 seconds it would disconnect. No answering machine or message saying you are closed and when you'd be open again.

Family meat pack, beef meat packs are good. Steaks are, really 👌. We also get meat scaps for the dogs and birds

I bought a roast beef last week ,which was May 16/24. It cost me $23 Dollars,after I got home I decided to roast it in oven with onions and garlic. I kept getting a rotten smell from it and realized it was all rotten. I will never buy from this McLane meat again . I'm discusted!!

There are new owners, and they have really stepped up the quality- of the service and the meat! Ben and his team did an amazing job on the rib eyes we bought. Definitely the local go to for AAA quality meat. We now only go here when we are hosting and serving steak!

I've purchase two quarter cows thru McLane's meats and both were excellent quality. I will keep ordering from Ben and also recommend him to my friends and family.
